The video below is fantastic. In an Almanar talk show, an Egyptian politician (Essam Sultan) is trying to make the point that there can be no resistance without freedom and dignity, that Hezbollah would be much better off without a dictatorship like the Syrian regime supporting it, and that the resistance should be happy that the Syrian people is trying to topple that regime.

The Future Movement (FM) has distanced itself from the anti-Assad demonstrations that will be taking place in Tripoli. In fact, the party is actively calling on Hizb-al-Tahrir, an extreme Islamist party with anarchical views, to call off the demonstrations and abide by the protest ban. Mr. Hariri even chaired a security meeting where he officially asked the army and the ISF to take “appropriate measures in dealing with them” (Which is a euphemism for authorized heavy handedness).

Initially, one would think that the Lebanese Christians (or at least the March 14 variety) are happy with what’s going on in Syria and the potential for a regime change. After all, wasn’t this the same regime they accuse of interfering in Lebanon and of weakening the Christians?
