Berri’s Initiative: Made In Syria

Lebanese politics

According to Alhayat, Syria has claimed ownership of Berri’s initiative and is waiting for Washington and Riad’s reply:

???? ???? ??????? ????????? ??? ?????? ??? ?????? ???? ????? ????? ?????????? ?? «??????»? ?????? ?? ????? ?? ???? ????????? ???????? ????? ??????? ?????? ??????? ?? ???? ????? ?????? ?????? ?? ?????? ??? ?? ??? ????????? ??????? ?? ????? ???? ?? ???? ?????? ???? ?????? ????? ??????? ?? ??? ????? ???? ?????? ???? ?????? ?? ??? ?????????. ?????? ??????? ????? ?? ????????? ???????? ?????? ??? ?????? ??? ??? ???? ???? ????? ???? ?? ????? ???????? ???? ???? ???? ??? ???????? ??????? ???????? ??????? ???????? ?????? ?????? ?? ????? ?????.

Brief translation: Syrian officials told the French Ambassador in Damascus that Mr Berri’s initiative was the gesture of Goodwill that Syria had promised France, and that the ball is now in the court of Washington and Riad to “move in Syria’s direction”

So much for Berri’s “100% Lebanese” initiative..

The dangerous thing, is that this doesn’t surprise me at all.
Nothing in this country is “made in Lebanon”… The only thing that is local and “made in lebanon” is banadoura w khiyar!

What I fear that there might be a plan to execute March 14th leaders and MP’s on their way to the Parliament on the 25th of September. Of course, the Persian terror occupation in downtown, Hizab-alla and the Syrian intelligence are the planners, while FPM and Wahab people will be the ”in the front” trash to execute.
As much I don’t like conspiracy theories, it is important to think of it when dealing with Alawaite Syrians and Majouss Iranians, because deceiving and terrorizing are inherent to their
    cultural identity.

If anyone watched KALAM AL NAS on thursday night with berri, they would have seen and heard that berri saying to Marcel that this is initiative was mentioned to nobody even his speech writer didnt include it in the speech and he also said that definity syria has no part in it nor anyone in the land knew about it to he said it in baalbek.

What a dog he is, he disgusts me the stupid liar, syria really stuffed up and dried berri on the clothes line naked this time.

The nice part is that the syrians stayed quite until march 14 said that they would be interested in it. After the positive feedback from March 14 syrians can say that it is their initiative, thus putting March 14 in a tight spot were they can’t withdraw from their positive feedback.

We all knew it was not a Lebanese initiative anyway. Mr. “Mailbox” Berri has been openly exposed by his own Syrian bosses though. How funny.

What a shocker. Berri is a mailbox. Any compromise with him is a surrender to Syrian will.

Anyone with half a functioning neuron knew this already. The sad part is that those who need to see this will not accept the evidence.

Hold your horses… if Berri’s initiative was “100% Lebanese” (or more likely, due to the pressure Bush’s executive order that put the screws on his US assets) like he claimed, wouldn’t Syria still try to take credit for it so that they can get some payback from France?

Just playing the devil’s advocate here.

    jay,

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck….it’s a duck.

You can amuse yourself by playing devil’s advocate here, but I think we all know that Berri’s initiative was made in Damascus, as has everything Berri has done or said for the past 25+ years.

[...] To many, it seems naive to separate Mr. Berri from Syria, as Syria itself reminded us that it’s behind Mr. Berri’s latest initiative. The question is, does Saudi Arabia know something about Mr. Berri that we don’t ? digg_url = ‘http://beirutspring.com/blog/2007/09/21/saudi-arabia-and-nabih-berri/’; digg_bgcolor = ‘#ffffff’; digg_skin = ‘compact’; [...]
