Cabinet Approves FPM Electricity Bill

Minister of Finance Mohammed Safadi Yesterday:

We currently don’t have the ability to spend $1.2 billion […] The Finance Ministry is ready to secure $600 million now, and in the next six months, if we are not able to provide the other $600 million from donations and funds, then we commit to securing it from the Lebanese Treasury

Safadi Today:

We approved the [electricity] plan… the funding, which is for $5 billion, was divided into four, annual stages

Those Aounists surely drive a hard bargain.
