The Things Lebanese Guys Are Doing To Declare Their Love
August 17, 2011 · Mustapha Hamoui
A nice write-up by Annie Slemrod in the Daily Star on those billboards in which men propose and express their undying love to often mystery women:
Youssef Bou Karroum of Beirut’s Sparks’ Balloons says his company has been putting up personalized billboards since 2001, and that they now cost upward of $3,000 per month in Beirut.
But according to Bou Karroum, billboards are a bit old-fashioned and now people do more “crazy stuff” to express admiration. There are messages spelled out in balloons […] There are also fireworks spelling out messages of love and congratulations, and cars decorated with balloons or even wrapped up like packages. Notes can be drawn in the sky by plane, and the next frontier, Bou Karroum says, is the 3-D billboard.
Read the whole thing and make sure you check out the part about the woman who came to her car and found a very scary surprise. One more thing: Love is crazy and all, but please, please, for our sanity’s sake, stay away from the 3-D billboard..
