Bassil’s Crude Threat to the Israelis

Now Lebanon:

Bassil […] said that all gas and oil exploration companies working with Israel should know that “investment atmosphere” would be disturbed if [Lebanese] rights are violated, adding, “Either we all have the chance to benefit from oil resources or we are all threatened.”

I fully support Lebanon’s aggressive lobbying efforts in international forums for its maritime borders. But Minister Jebran Bassil’s comment can only be interpreted as a threat of actual violence against Oil investors in the region. That’s not the kind of “aggressive” I had in mind.
