Lebanese Stability

Roger Cohen writes in the New York Times that Lebanon is one of three stable countries in the Middle East (with Turkey and Israel). In response, reader O’brien comments:
Israel? Rock stable since inception in 1948. Turkey? Pretty much so, since Attaturk. Lebanon? About as stable as my bipolar aunt, and with Hizbollah, not nearly so charming on a good day.
