Hezbollah’s Bad Decision
December 20, 2010 · Mustapha Hamoui
Hanin Ghaddar calls this their “suicide attempt”:
Logic says that if [Hezbollah are] worried Israel wants to launch another war, they need to protect themselves by cooperating with everyone in Lebanon and drop the aggressive rhetoric. But instead, Hezbollah has chosen a course of action that will only expose it to Israeli attacks. The only explanation to this suicidal approach is that they do not have the means to take any initiative
In other words, the decision to antagonize the rest of the Lebanese was imposed on the party from outside. I’m not sure I buy this line. I think it’s more about misdirection and complacence.
