Muslim Attitudes To Hezbollah, Hamas and Alqaeda
December 7, 2010 · Mustapha Hamoui
A survey by pew research asked Muslims in several countries about their favorability to Hezbollah, Hamas and Alqaeda. The table below summarizes the findings (source)
A couple of quick Lebanon-related notes:
- It’s Amazing how little support Lebanon has for Alqaeda (even less than Turkey), especially considering that these are only Muslim attitudes. So if Lebanon’s Christians were taken into account, Lebanon would have even less than 1% support for the terrorist outfit.
- I also find it notable that 52% of Lebanon’s Muslims have a favorable view of Hezbollah. But I’m not sure if the figure would change if you add the Christians, since the FPM is allied with the group.
