The New Arab Woman Forum Is A Scam

I just love when Dalila Mahdawi gets feisty. In a Guardian column today, she rips apart the annual gathering which is supposed to discuss the role of Arab Women as

“a gruesome parade of plastic surgery operations and couture outfits on the relatives of male political leaders than anything remotely to do with women’s empowerment. For many involved in the struggle for gender equality, Nawf is as genuine a women’s event as many of the noses of its attendees”

Strong, strong words. I Love it.

Despite of the apparent hollowness of the above paragraph, the column is very substantial and makes a lot of good points. Do make sure to read it and read the comments.
