Death By Consensus

Hanin Ghaddar:

every consensus leads to another crisis, because the main concern is that no one wins and no one loses. And this time, another consensus would be more difficult to implement because there are more than two players.

Saving face is important in all negotiations, but lebanon has elevated this to an absurd art with its idiotic “no winner no loser” formulation for every single thing politicians have to discuss.
