Sami Moubayed Distorts The News About Lebanon
November 8, 2010 · Mustapha Hamoui
The below is just a sample of how some people like Sami Moubayed (a Syrian) report Lebanon’s news in international media. (Emphasis is mine):
Ahead of the mid-term elections on November 2, the United States showed an almost sudden interest in the STL […] Tensions reached new heights last week when court investigators stormed a gynecologist’s clinic in the Ouzai suburb of Beirut trying to obtain patient records dating to 2003
No, the US did not show a “sudden” interest in the STL. It was reacting to actions by Hezbollah to block the STL. But hey, thanks for hinting that the USA is somehow responsible for the STL.
And no, the investigators did not “storm” the Gynocologist’s clinic. They took an appointment in advance and asked the doctor to dedicate a day for them so that they wouldn’t inconvenience the rest of the clients. But thanks anyway for hinting that the attack by Hezbollah women was somehow a legitimate act of self-defense.
This is what you get when Lebanon’s news is written in Damascus.
