❊ Sayyed Nasrallah Just Declared Phase Two Of Hezbollah’s War Against the STL

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah:

I call on all Lebanese, citizens … and politicians alike, to boycott this tribunal and end all cooperation with its investigators […] Any further cooperation with the tribunal is equal to an attack on the resistance

Please don’t be naive and think that this is the natural, thunderous reaction of a hot-blooded Muslim whose honor was assaulted when foreign men “tarnished” a Dahieh women’s clinic. This is a cold, strategic call for the supporters of Hezbollah across Lebanon to move into phase two of Hezbollah’s war against the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL)

Phase one was the smear campaign. The “operation brainwash” which was meant to plant the seeds of doubt and discontent among impressionable Lebanese who wavered at the slightest mention of the word “Israel”.

After weeks and weeks of relentless verbal attacks, allusions, double-talk, accusations of treason and intimidation, it is now time for phase two: Action. Every movement of the STL’s investigators will now be scrutinized by Hezbollah’s “people” (Sha3b hezbollah). Yesterday’s attack, presumably an ad-hoc reaction by a group of angry women is only the beginning.

As of now, it will be easier to hold Israeli flags than STL logos in Hezbollah controlled areas.

The days ahead will be especially tense and tricky. There can be no Saudi-Syrian deal to put back this genie in his bottle, and something will have to give.
