Tripoli As a Modern, Resilient City

October 26, 2010 · Mustapha Hamoui

If you read Arabic and care about Tripoli, I recommend you read this very thoughtful and insightful expose by Talal Khouja in Annahar on the northern city.

Mr. Khouja skillfully portrays today’s Tripoli — Why it stands with March 14, how it comes across in the media, the fights in Jabal Muhsen — in a historical, economical and social context. A must read for anyone who wants to know more about Lebanon’s second city and where it’s heading.

Note: Because Annahar has no permalinks (links to all Annahar articles expire after one week), I have linked to a permanent Google Docs copy of the article.
