The Damn Media Is Giving Tripoli A Bad Name
October 20, 2010 · Mustapha Hamoui
Tripoli’s Mayor gathered around some NGOs and declared that tripoli is being unfairly portrayed in the media:
Participants condemned what they called misleading items being put forward by local print media and television stations, calling upon the media to be honest and prudent. The call appeared to be responding to a recent program on LBC’s Kalam al-Nas, which tackled the topic of sectarian strife and young people’s readiness to fight in a civil conflict.
But perhaps they should look at the real situation on the ground. It has been argued that what is happening in Tebbaneh and Jabal mohsen is in fact the most honest manifestation of the potential future of Lebanon.
