Pierre Daher on the stakes in the LF’s lawsuit against LBC:

“It is an illusion to think this is a battle over ownership, […] it is a battle over media freedom and over the freedom of a media institution that doesn’t believe in partisanship or political restraints. This freedom is sacred and I will not allow anyone to attack it.”

A bit difficult to believe, coming from such a hard-nosed and cynical man as Mr. Daher. Make no mistake, the real battle here is over the editorial slant of LBC, whose 8 o’clock news bulletin remains one of the most popular sources of news in Lebanon.
