France Assumes That All The Lebanese Speak French

A great catch from Lebanese blogger Mohammed:

I got online to get visa information from the website of the French Embassy [in Beirut] and I was shocked to find out their page has no Arabic or English sections. It’s literally all in French. You would think that a foreign embassy in an Arabic country would at least provide information in Arabic. What…they couldn’t afford translators’ fees?

The French seem to be in complete denial of the decline of their language in Lebanon. Even I who was French educated finally decided to put my son in an English-only school.
