On Hezbollah’s Reaction To Geagea’s Proposal
August 21, 2010 · Mustapha Hamoui
Hanin Ghaddar detects Bad blood:
Hezbollah could have turned down the proposal diplomatically, saying what it usually says in similar situations: “Thank you, but no thank you.” But not this time. Not only because it came from the leader of the Lebanese Forces, but mainly because it might have upset Aoun, who did not attend the session.
Exactly. Geagea at least deserved a reasoned debate as a token to his effort and creativity. Instead, all he got from Hezbollah and their cohorts was ridicule and ad-hominem attacks. This speaks volumes about Hezbollah’s interest in a real debate in this country.
