“The American Flag Is For Burning, Not For Waving”

The Daily Star on the Lack of American flags fluttering in the south of Lebanon during the worldcup:

Shunned for its close alliance with Israel, the US has found no support in Lebanon’s southern towns and its soccer team is considered by many to be the most unpopular team in the region, followed by England.

For the record, I’ve seen a fair amount of American and especially British flags in Beirut and in Tripoli.
