Civil movement activists and Lebanese newspapers have also taken part in commemorating the Civil War.

On the newspapers’ side, a large majority of Lebanese newspapers displayed this very banner on page 1 today:

It reads: “All of Lebanon rejects another April 13th and insists on unity in a republic that preserves peace and supports Human rights and the freedom of citizens.” A statement that stayed away from politically divisive buzzwords, like sovereignty or independence, so that it could be on newspapers of all political affiliations.

Civil movements act out war atrocities.

Also notable were the activities of Lebanese civil movements, who assembled hundreds of people to the old civil war trench-lines to act out the atrocities of war. Here are some pictures:
