Lahhoud’s Secret Itinerary

June 25, 2007 · Mustapha Hamoui

According to March 14’s website, our President sneaks every afternoon, unescorted, out of his Baabda palace for 4 hours. Where he goes remains a mystery.

Are those benign trips to see a mistress who simply can’t live without seeing his tanned pecs, or are the trips more serious, like perhaps negotiations over his next destination after the Presidency? So what will it be? Montecarlo or Doha?

I find it weird that in a country where even entry-level politicians and journalists are guarded to the teeth, the head of the state just meanders around, with no protection (to dirty minded readers: I don’t mean that kind of protection) at the same time every day.

Seriously, where do you think he goes?
