Can an upcoming summit between the Presidents of Iran, Syria and Iraq in Tehran pacify Iraq?

“All three countries intend to hold a three-way summit among Iraq, Iran and Syria to discuss the security situation and the repercussions for stability of the region,” said Ali al-Adeeb, a lawmaker of Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi prime minister, and a close aide to the president said on Monday.
The Iranian move was also a display of its increasingly muscular role in the Middle East, where it already has established deep influence over Syria and Lebanon.

The talk of the Baker/Hamilton commission’s upcoming report followed by the intense diplomatic action along the London/Damascus, Damascus/Baghdad, Damascus/Tehran roads have culminated in this summit.

Time will tell if a deal have already been reached between America and Iran, or if simply the Iranians are giving the impression that they’re in control.
