Fouad W. Seniora

October 7, 2005 · Mustapha Hamoui

With a sense of newfound assertiveness, P.M. Seniora decides to take on the terrorists.

One of the many actions taken by the Seniora government to address the security issue is to set-up a monetary incentive for people who offer leads on the terrorists.

The Beirut Spring argued long ago that such a measure was needed, but the measure is incomplete: It needs to come with a solid and trustworthy witness-protection program to further seduce would-be defectors.

The measure comes amid large restructurings taking place in the Lebanese security apparatus. P.M Seniora, in response to claims of inaction had said that “We are emerging from the era of borrowed security to the era of national security,”We are doing battle against terrorism and cannot but insist on winning victory, and we shall triumph.” (translation by Naharnet)

Straight from Texas, don’t you agree?
