Itunes App Store Comes To Lebanon!
Finally, Lebanese fans of Iphone apps can share in the fun!
I used to keep on reading all these amazing reviews of various Iphone apps and how amazing they are, but it was such a bummer that my Lebanese credit card couldn’t do me any good. I had to have a home address in one of the few lucky countries which had an Itunes store.
So Imagine my happiness when I realized that Apple has now “half-added” Lebanon to the list of countries where the Itunes App Store will now work.
Sure I still can’t have access to Music, Videos and Audiobooks, but I’m happy my BLOM card can now buy me all those awesome little Iphone applications.

French Foreign Minister Gets Flack For Calling Lebanese Journalists “Beautiful”
While on an official visit to Beirut, the French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner extended his courtesy to the “beautiful women” around him, referring to Lebanese TV reporters, photographers and VJs.
The next day, he gets blasted as a “white” neocolonial inspecting the treasures of his erstwhile subjects and disrespecting Lebanese women. Is that criticism fair? Was Mr. Kouchner simply being courteous as any Frenchman would have been, or did he step the mark of propriety by treating profession journalists like objects?

Saida (Sidon) celebrates ‘Year Of Astronomy 2009′
The southern city is taking part of the International Year of Astronomy 2009, which was designed by the UESCO to be a “global celebration of astronomy and its contributions to society and culture”.
Activities include astronomers visiting Beirut to give lectures and groups of Lebanese students visiting astronomy centers in Europe and the US. (Details after pics)
