Here’s a tip from the Syrian regime: Kill the front line reporters who only a few days ago told the world that the city is expecting a massacre to take place. You get two benefits: The world won’t get to see your crimes and other journalists will think twice before deciding to cover your brutality.
For those who claim this is an “accident” or collateral damage, please spare me your naiveté. If the person who has been annoying the regime with her scrutiny is killed, this is not a mistake. Especially if the regime is known for brutally murdering journalists who opposed it.

Why are you still bothering yourself with people that still justify the regime’s actions. These are people completely detached from logic and have a selective understanding of what is happening to suit their preconceived notions. That is, Assad and company are good, the rest of the world is bad. Hopeless cases.
Mus, the following was taken from Hurriyet (a Turkish newspaper) which adds to your position that this was no accident. The toll for journalists in Syria is now 8.
“….Earlier, a Syrian opposition activist had told AFP two Western journalists were killed and three wounded when forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad’s regime shelled a makeshift media centre in the Baba Amr district of Homs….”
The regime knows that his only way out is killing anyone opposing it!
Do you recall guys how the Syrian regime bombarded Tripoli in the 1990s to make it submit to its forces?
OMG, i was listening to her yesterday night talking to Anderson Cooper on CNN about the massacre video of the 2 years old boy Adnan.
Anderson thanked her for being honest and saying play and simple: the regime is lying and his last words to her were: I know it’s impossible to stay safe, but try your best.
Unless the Syrian regime has laser guided missiles, I don’t see how they could hit a particular house, especially since all (anti-syrian)-news Channels were reporting “INDISCRIMINATE” (as in 3ashwe2e) shelling.
Please stop being so biased, they are all committing massacres, unless you think all those hundreds of Alawite and Christians civilians were killed by the regime as well, that the regime massacres its own supporters?
The Syrian military doesn’t need a laser guided missile to hit a specific target. It can use forward observers. A military artillery observer or spotter is responsible for directing artillery and mortar fire…….. for any mission supporting ground maneuver elements. Because artillery is an indirect fire weapon system, the guns are rarely in line-of-sight of their target, often located miles away. The observer serves as the eyes of the gunners, calling in target locations and adjustments to the Fire Direction Center (FDC) via radio or …… electronic means. The FDC then translates the observer’s orders into firing solutions for the battery’s cannons. Artillery observers are often deployed with combat arms maneuver units, typically infantry companies or armored squadrons.
Given the chaos that indescriminate shelling causes, a “target of opportunity” gets lost in the noise.
Indiscriminate is a description of the outcome. The few images I’ve seen show tanks firing, and these things are quite accurate. I have no idea what else they are using. But let’s take a step back. If you’re using tanks for crowd control, it’s going to be ugly, discriminate or no discriminate.
Also, without diminishing the loss of the reporters, they are no more valuable than the Syrians who are dropping like flies. This selective outrage is a scandal.
Ali K: Also, without diminishing the loss of the reporters, they are no more valuable than the Syrians who are dropping like flies.
That’s true but the fact they are outsiders underlines the fact that they are not combatants in a Syrian rebellion, which underlines the fact that Assad is not attacking “terrorists” as he claims but is instead murdering anyone he considers a threat to his power, along with anyone unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Ali K: This selective outrage is a scandal.
And I suppose you are equally outraged by a Hamas suicide bombing of an Israeli school bus as you are about an Israeli airstrike on Palestinians in Gaza? Welcome to the real world
The regime probably did target it deliberately but perhaps it didnt know there were wetsern journalists there as this would seriously hurt their image. Well unless they are completely stupid
On the other hand, a french journalist was killed by accident during shelling by the free syrian army a while ago and there was no similar outrage. His death was not very convenient For exploitation i guess
