Why Does The Government Still Regulate Fuel Prices?

Such antiquated measures as the government issuing weekly price schedules for fuel are one of the reasons why we’re having a fuel crisis today.

We are now in a situation where a political stalemate is causing an actual stalemate in the country, where fuel traders are refusing to equip filling stations with fuel because the honorable Minister Gebran bassil is striking a political pose.

I can’t believe I’m typing this, but a brave Lebanese government should do exactly what Iran did.

I totally disagree. I think that the government should regulate certain sectors of the economy. Just look at what happened at wall street. It was the total lack of government regulations that caused all this havoc.

I agree with you, but we disagree on which sectors the gov should regulate. I don’t think setting prices of goods is one of the government’s duties..
