Britain’s Symbolic Contribution To the STL

The UK Government will contribute 1 Million pounds (1.6 Million Dollars) to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
The amount may be small, but it’s highly symbolic for two reasons: The timing of its announcement (at a time where the STL is facing existential threats), and the fact that it was made at all during the great British belt tightening of 2010.
