  5. Yes Danielle, absolutely classless and totally inexcusable. The problem is that politicians and the media don’t make enough effort to explain JimRamK’s point.

  6. I was at the Gorillaz event and it was absolutely embarrassing what the audience did. (Clarification: They weren’t insulting the Syrian National Orchestra as Danielle pointed out. The orchestra was actually received with a lot of applause. What they did was boo Damon Albarn when he stated that he is excited about the groups performance in Syria. The vain Lebanese crowd couldnt hide its racism at the mention of the word Syria and the booing started.)

    As for the basketball episode, I honestly can’t see anything “classless” about it. Its a sporting event? Exactly! That’s why the fans will try to unsettle the opposing teams players using all kinds of insults. Imagine if every team that is insulted by the fans of the opposing side withdraws from the game. The way I see it, the Syrian team displayed poor sportsmanship by withdrawing. You should hear the chants of the Brits when playing against Germany….
