Remember when I first linked to an American girl’s story of her shock by how fancy women looked in Lebanese weddings?
Apparently it’s a recurring theme. Another girl, of Lebanese origin but who grew up in South Africa, recently attended a Lebanese village wedding and she was equally dazzled by the fabulous ladies and took pictures.

Hello, my name is Mustapha and I've been blogging about Lebanese society, business and politics since February 2005.
I hope that readers do not look at these stories with any sense of pride since such obsessions are best dismissed as superficial and vacuous.
Ohhh Lebanese weddings..one is really good enough to last me a lifetime..I was invited to attend another one this weekend, which I managed to wiggle my way out of! Sheessshh..really, they are just sooo overdone!
Thanks for the link!
They are incredibly overdone. Planning mine now. Probably shocked the planner when I said no fireworks show or coming out of the cake, no smoke machines, no colored lights. Also not wearing a dress with a translucent top.
