i think the majority of this elections will take it the opposition chi 60%. hizbollah and amal will take all the chi3a seats and hariri all the sunnite seats and jounblatte w talare irsllane will take the druz . finally, the competition will be in the christian part but i think aoun will get 60 % and massi7iyi 14 azar 40 %

Why dont they cut up Baalbeck/Hermel into 5 pieces so it is the same size of the other regions? This block is like a 1/3 of Lebanon just by itself.

Hi there

Can someone please give me an idea on the win/loss ratio for March 14 and the others in the 2009 elecitons? There seems to be this idea floating around that the way Beirut was divided up and the way the 1960 law was set up in the rest of country, that it definitely favours the Hizb Allah/Amal/Aoun alliance.
1 – Is this true?
2 – How big will their majority be?

I don’t really understand how pursing further confessionalism is a victory. why and what are we celebrating? Our threshold for joy and satisfaction is so low, c’mon we should celebrate bigger things, like working on having one state, not dividing what we have even further.
Then again, when yesterday you were being shot at and today you are alive, that is not such a bad start.

One Interesting parameter; where would Aoun run in 2009? and would he get a seat? He is unlikely to get much traction now.

Well i don’t think it’s the best electoral law ever,it s got its verry big flaws…..but still it s way better than Hariri/Kanaan law……
I really do think the new goverment should study a new modern and more representative election law,and in a way or another i appreciate the Boutros electoral law project……
