“Al-Qaeda declares war on Hezbollah”

Links

Iran’s Press TV writes a thinly-sourced report on Al-Qaeda declaring war on Hezbollah:

Al-Qaeda has reportedly called on its operatives to go to Lebanon and defend what it called the Sunni community of the country.

The report came while some Arab media outlets described the current clashes in Lebanon as a fight between Sunni and Shia communities.

In an interviews with Sunni clerics with links to Saad Hariri’s pro-government bloc, Al-Arabiya TV network described the ongoing clashes as a sectarian strife.

Sheikh Ali al-Jozo, Mufti of the Jebel region, who is well known for his harsh stance against Hezbollah told the TV network that the clashes are a battle between Lebanon’s Shia and Sunni communities and called on Arab leaders to prevent “Iran’s influence in the country.”

The TV network reported that al-Qaeda on all of its websites urged its operatives to defend the Sunni community of Lebanon.

The reports came while in interviews with NBN and al-Manar TV stations on Thursday, a number of Sunni clerics said that the clashes are not a sectarian strife and many Sunni Muslims in Lebanon support Hezbollah.

I’m not sure whether this is true or not, but the fact that Tehran is reporting it means, at least, that Al-Qaeda (the Takfiri) has totally lost appeal in the hearts of Middle Easterners. Otherwise, why would Tehran use this as propaganda?

So, 2 points for the good guys.

Who the hell believes Iran Press TV – believing Iran Press TV is like believing in horror ghost stories – the amount of truth in both cases is the same. ;-)

Oh and CMARII I would not be so sure about Al Qaeda lost appeal in the ME. As for the report it just means that IRI wants to show the West and the Hezb apologists in the west that sunnis in Lebanon are bad guys because Al Qaeda supports them…………..as opposed to good guys, the Party of God.

Well, who controls Al Quaeda? A considerable branch of Al Qaeda is probably operating under the Iranian supervision. Saad bin Laden is taken as a hostage in Iran. Another branch is controlled by the Alawite in Damascus.

What is on the mind of the safavid asshole ayatollahs?

Well, Yes Sunni all over the universe should unite and help us. American plan failed in the ME, but the Iranian ambitious empire shall not rise!

Iran is the biggest danger to the integrity and unity of the Muslim world and these heretic Persians should be fought though an organized plan and fierce determination. Otherwise, what happened in Beirut will become de facto in all Arab countries.

    Hi Everyone,

Can some adults on this site explain to me why the military wing of Hezbollah does not just integrate with the Lebanese Army and maintain its political wing with the democratically elected government? Has this scenario been suggested to Hezbollah by the current democratically elected gov’t?

If it has been suggested, why would in your opinion Hezbollah not cooperate within State institutions? Why would they rather keep their military wing separate?

I hope some responses come from people within the Hezbollah circle who can give concrete explanations.

Unfortunately it is a pure sectarian war that is happening in Lebanon it doesn’t need much to realize this you just have to walk in the streets of Beirut and have to ask for an apartment for rent or sale in a “shi3a” or “Sunni” neighborhood and the first question is: Are you Sunni or shi3a?, then comes what is the budget? !!!!! You just have to attend a pure familiar event to face the reality. And now after the crazy savage events in Beirut and mainly against Future and Beirut both symbol of Sunni Muslim in Lebanon the drift is deep and any extremist organization can take advantage of it.

    JohnDoe,
Its been suggested a number of times by pro-government politicians, but Hizbollah instantly rejects this idea since it hinders or effects their “Reason D’etre”…This isolationist entity called Hizbollah does not want to be part of the Lebanese state or the Governement, it wants a state within a state, and to be left alone by the Lebanese authorities while fighting under the guise of anti-zionists and Arab-Islamic champions of the Palestinian cause, but in reality, they are nothing but an Iranian proxy army, and as recent events show, its not only Isreal that they are against.

JohnDoe, I posted this comment fews days ago before the event in Beirut turned ugly. Hopefully it would give you another opinion of why HA refuses to truly integrate itself within the State.

    ….
So what is HA up to? For those that still belief this entity its truly a resistance movement or just out to better the livelihood of the “impoverished” Shiite community, to put it mildly, you’re being too simplistic in your thinking and analysis.

I think HA is not interested in creating their own State or taking over Lebanon, at least not yet. They’re too clever to know neither option will be allowed to succeed. HA learned a great deal from the cunning tactics of the Syrians to take such rash decisions.

Even with 30 years of occupation the Syrians allowed MP’s to be “elected” and Lebanese Presidents to be “appointed”, just to fool or silence the critics into thinking Lebanon’s political institutions are functioning. Though the Syrians long term strategy of systematically dissolving the Lebanese institutions was very much in full gear.

This is the same strategy HA been employing. They want to keep the Lebanese State barely functioning, whether with a government of their liking or a feeble government too weak to even challenge their own ultraistic motives. HA knows they can’t afford to disturb the delicate sectarian balance or the external players, all this while continuing to grow their own military, political and social infrastructure separate from the State (hint the zealous warnings against messing with their own private phone network).

If HA’s strategy goes unchecked a day will come when HA dominant force simply will overwhelm the State and becomes the de-facto Lebanese State. That’s why this government, with all its shortcomings, can not afford to lose this struggle.

    What a moronic answer !:))

“Safavid “?LOL . You sound like a fanatic ….. Wahabii , Zionist wannabe Arab Sunni …., what ever . The best description of you is a agent provocator .

Iran is not after being an Empire . What happened in Lebanon is fault of your so called Arab Brothers that are a slave to Zionists .

Over 300 million Arabs do not have the balls to stand up to the Cancer called Israel and have peace with your Shiaa Brothers so they do not turn to Iran .And you blame Iran for your troubles ? Grow some balls and face the real parasite called Israel that is eating you alive .

The real cancer in the region is Iran. A nihilistic nation full of hatred and complex issues.
Israel did not occupy Sunni Beirut and shut down Al Mustaqbal and kill the innocent people in West Beirut and Mount Lebanon. Iran does: that’s why we hate Iran. It is a simple equation safavid chick. Instead of blaming Israel and putting your hate on Arabs: ask yourself what the hell you’re doing in the region and in Lebanon. Unfortunalty your brain is full of hatred to hear a logical respond for you.

I believe Jay’s answer comes closest to the truth.
It was a mistake of the Hariri government to attempt to shut down the HA phone network (at this point), giving HA a reason to destabilize an already fragile, no – unresolved political situation.
What bothers me most is, that the destiny of Lebanon continuously gets messed around with by outside entities.
The latest clash with Israel (HA was vitally involved) still left scars, putting the country and it’s infrastructure “back in time”. And now this! Again an attempt to halt prosperity of a beautiful and capable country, denying their citizens to take life into their own hands. This saddens me. It is just not fair.
