Yes, and bring in the ear plugs.
Some may see a “pissing contest” among religions, with each “layer” of power coming in with “his” bigger mosque or church…
We now have about 8 mosques and 7 Churches crammed in a space no bigger than my (tiny) home village. In addition, each have their own prayer times; the mosques agree neither on the timing of the prayer calls, nor on the content/extent of the calls. The churches have different holidays and masses. And none appear to realize their won decibel levels.
So good luck if you go for a walk-through, and then decide to sip a quiet coffee during the day. And it set to get worse; another mosque is set for construction/upgrade in the middle of the Beirt Souks, and another church is set for (re)construction as well.
Hello, my name is Mustapha and I blog in The Beirut Spring about Lebanese society and politics. I started in February 2005 after the killing of P.M. Rafik Hariri.

I’m here to thank you for posting my photo. Beirut was a nice experience. I wish you all the best of luck.
Ageel,
You’re always welcome. Let me know whenever you pass by Beirut and take more of them,
Jeha,
I got to give it to. “Mosque”, “Church” and “Pissing contests” don’t often come together in the same sentence in Lebanon :)
