Jumblat: M14 Victory In Order Of Engineering “Worthless”
April 14, 2008 · Mustapha Hamoui
Does the PSP leader believe that the March 14 movement is headed in the wrong direction?
In his weekly article in Al-Anbaa, the Druze leader — whose Shiite candidate for the order’s election was shot down by March 14 — reproached his allies and said that they’re isolating other Lebanese:
…Such an attitude is widespread and it contradicts March 14’s general course, which is based on openness toward all sects, especially the Shiite sect, who were forbidden from being represented in those elections, [..]
In these elections, we lost our national representation, which could have been an example of the Lebanon we want
Although Mr. Jumbalt’s stance appears to be one of admirable principles, the cynic in me refuses to see it as anything other than posturing to save his face with the man he had promised a seat.
Any thoughts?
