Mr. Hazem Saghieh observes the political landscape in Lebanon and finds a poster child of modern globalization:

“We come across micro-identities with their own cultures, their own press and visual media, in a manner that would not have been possible in previous decades “

Mr. Saghieh also concludes that Hezbollah is in a “dead-end” mission to restore the old system of identity politics.

    If the Shia don’t accept Nasrallah’s “identity politics”, yet Hezbollah controls their territory and elections and won’t reform, is there any course of action for Shia to take other than assassination, revolution, or welcoming a foreign invasion? Other than doing nothing, I mean?
