Bad News For Hezbollah Honeymooners

Links

As of today Hezbollah’s satellite channel Almanar will be taken off the air in Thailand.

From the Bankok Post: “Thaicom switches off ‘Terror TV’”

Thaicom announced on Wednesday it had ended satellite broadcasts by the Hezbollah propaganda TV channel al-Manar, a service which had brought worldwide protest.”Shin Satellite would like to confirm that the company had already terminated the Al-Manar TV test signal from Thaicom on (last) Friday, January 11, 2008,” said Shin Satellite Pcl (SatTel), the owner of Thaicom satellites.

Thaicom would have been able to broadcast Almanar to Australia and Southeast Asia and some parts of Africa and the Middle East.

If they get bored with burqas in Al Manar, they can watch the Israeli version of ‘Survivor’

So much for freedom of speach…it’s a stupid step, and it reminds me when the cable owners in Dahieh removed LBC and that was another stupid step…
It seems that stupidity and fanatisme are ruling the world….look at the moron and fanatic bush…and the megalomanian and fanatic Nijade….hell what happend to the heros, the saviors are they an endangered specie…

This has the fingerprint of US “pressures” on the satellite company… The gem in the naharnet report states that “THAICOM’s spokesperson Piyanuch Sujpluem said the satellite management was initially unaware of ‘al-Manar’s connection to the Lebanese terror organization Hizbullah’”…

The key news to watch is if NileSat and ArabSat stop carrying Al-Manar… The way things are going, I guess they will drop it before the end of March.

    Mustafa,

Please explain to me why Almanar is a “Hezbollah propaganda TV channel” but LBC and Mustaqbal are “honorable” and “pro-march 14.”
Why don’t you refer to them as Ouwet or Hariri propaganda channels?

I mean let’s face reality. ALL media in Lebanon spews propaganda for some politician or other like incontinent chickens.

Why do you only celebrate Manar being banned?
I say we ban Otv, Berri tv, Ouwet TV, Sa3do TV and the rest of the crap we’re fed.

    What do you say?
