Hey everyone:

It would be much appreciated if you could visit my new blog:
www.slickblog.wordpress.com

I am trying to lift it off the ground so it would be appreciated if you could comment, thank you.

P.S. Hezbollah contributed to the independence as much as anyone else. Did they not kick out the Israeli's? Would Lebanon have as much independence if the Israeli's still occupied a 10th of the country?

When we ask for partnership in the government, we do it because we want to protect the government from American influence.

Kassem is just a mouthpiece. These words are probably those of Mugniyeh, Hezbollah's real #2, and the man recently reappointed to prevent the spread of pro-Americanism throughout Hezbollah's ranks. Torture and murder are Muggie's tools in trade. I expect Lebanese will cower before him in short order, those who haven't already.

Ah yes. The usual narrow-minded discourse rears its ugly head again.

Remind me again, who was it that commented a few days ago that we were like a bunch of narrow-minded children who needed to grow up. And the level of debate on this and other Lebanese blogs was laughable.
Whoever that person was, he or she was correct.

Keep on bickering, kids! Fight over who really cares about independence more than the other guy...By the time you all come to your senses, you won't have any independence left to worry about.

translation:
"American influence": Euro-American western way of life; liberalism; human rights, women's rights, separation between state and religion.
"partnership": dictate, impose, take and not give, supremacy, coercion.
"protect": impose PAX Muselmana; Peace in our time.

Why are Iranian diplomats still drive safely in Beirut's streets.?

"What baffles me is how long our smart and politically-savvy leaders are going to put up with this bazaar-like mentality chimps before saying we had enough."

Our leaders ARE bazaar-like mentality chimps. There are playing the same game on both sides.

a close second to this quote would be aoun saying over and over yesterday, "people like HIM should not be able to write," in reference to a journalist. As if our journalists haven't been silenced enough...
