The end of a President who brought assassination and chaos to Lebanon! A dictator (the Asad father) forced his election and another dictator (Asad JR.) forced his extension. At both times, the constitution was amended to allow his election. Just a reminder the Syrian constitution was amended in 15 minutes to allow the son of a dictator to be elected (sure unopposed) as a President of Syria! What a shame! But sooner or later dictatorship regimes will end. Read history and find out where is Hitler (Germany), Stalin and the rest of the Soviet Union leaders, Nicolae Ceausescu (Romania), Musolini (Italy) and Tuto (Yugoslavia)!!!
I hope that this is a beginning of a new era in Lebanon!
Shameful President and Shameful Alawite-Safavid era! Looking now for a true Lebanese President!
Mus can we extend this ‘policy’ to include public Lebanese blogs?
thank be to god that emile lahoud is gone and out i hate him from the buttom of my heart he is the worst president we ever had nothing but a syrian puppet god bless those who were killed under his watch and may gad help us to elect a real president this time around who would work for lebanon and the lebanese people lahoud may we never forget how bad you were!!!!!!!!!!!
Guys and Girls, I honnestly think that you sound like hezbollah after their divine victory.
Lebanon or ex-M14 have won nothing in Lahoud’s departure, quite the contrary there is a serious chance for someone worse than him coming to power.
Dartboard…
Good riddance to bad rubbish for the worst most embarrassing treacherous destructive jinx this country has ever seen!!!!!! hope his next “departure’ would be straight to the IT!
And now the new Lebanon begins…

Let’s hope that M14 stick to their principles and enforce democracy practices.
It’s so obvious that Hezb/Aoun/Berri can’t stand democracy.
Why is it that previous presidential votes (before 1998) were done democratically, and not now anymore?
I will save the hallejuliah until we see which picture replaces his.
i read this an alarabiya.net and couldnt resist posting it here :

General Lahoud …. The Warrior
General Emile Lahoud is the eleventh President of the Republic of Lebanon since Independence. His name was adhered to resistance, purity and impartiality. He has struggled against corruption and as a result, got campaigned and boycotted, nevertheless, Lahoud maintained the constitution until the ever end of his term.
No wonder if his pictures spread all over the country because he was ever since by the side of his people in peace as in war.
General Lahoud’s main assets were his unshakable determination and reputation, and an illustrious history of dedication and service to his country. When the nation and the Army faced an unprecedented period which required exceptional efforts, General Lahoud was asked to carry out the national rescue mission. His qualifications were a determining factor that led to his nomination. He has never longed for personal recognition or favor.
Lahoud paid for his stances against the US administration, especially after the famous phone call conversation between him and the former US Secretary of State Madeleine AlBright. She demanded that Lebanon approves the Israeli withdrawal took place during 2000 provided that the Lebanese ambassador to the United Nations to declare this, while the Israeli enemy is still taking hold of more than 19 million m2 of our lands, detaining Lebanese people and stealing our water. The Lebanese decision to extend Lahoud’s presidential term to another three years was the last straw that broke the camel’s back in his relation with the US administration which boycotted him and tried to isolate him. In their turn, the US tools in Lebanon have become cursers who campaigned against Lahoud perhaps he would be weakened or given up, but all these attempts failed and Lahoud remained the preserver of the constitution; resistance and lands, refusing settlement and division.
General Emile Lahoud was born in Beirut on January 12, 1936. He is the son of General Jamil Lahoud and Adrinée Badjakian. He comes from the town of Baabdat, in the Metn region. Since his youth, General Lahoud has been recognized for his patriotic sense of duty devoted to preserving and protecting the national unity for all the citizens.
From his early childhood, Emile Lahoud witnessed the events of Lebanon’s independence. His father’s struggle for the independence of Lebanon was his first lesson. Lahoud’s father, whose name is synonymous with the creation of the Army and the quest for independence, taught him military discipline, which accepts no alternative to the national will. His father’s experience in politics taught General Emile Lahoud the values of loyalty and justice, enhancing his knowledge and stressing two features: The officer who devotes himself to his country; and the politician who works sincerely and justly. He, therefore, was able to see the dimensions of political issues and tried his best not to interfere in them. General Lahoud unified the strategic goals of the Army by pointing out the real enemy and by stating the national path each one must follow”; “Israel is the enemy which is occupying our land and threatening our stability”.
Lahoud spent nine years in control as the Lebanese President working on implementing the oath. Despite the heavy load imposed on him, Lahoud remained the father, the husband and the son.
WE LOVE YOU EMILE LAHOUD, BECAUSE UNLIKE SANIOURA THE AMERICANS PUPPET WHO CRIED CROCODILE TEARS IN FRONT OF THE CAMERAS, UNLIKE GEAGEA THE WAR CRIMINAL WHO KILLED MANY INNOCENT LEBANESE, UNLIKE SAAD HARIRI THE LOSER WHO’S CONTROLLED BY THE US AND WHO CAN’T MAKE A SINGLE AND COMPLETE SENTENCE, YOU LAHOUD REMAINED THE PRESERVER OF THE CONSTITUTION, RESISTANCE AND LANDS, YOU REFUSED SETTLEMENT AND DIVISIONS, YOU REFUSED TO BE CONTROLLED BY THE UNITED STATES OF TERRORISM.
EMILE LAHOUD, THE WARRIOR WE WILL NEVER FORGET. ALLAH MA3AK YA BATAL LEBNAN!!!!
Here you go, Mr. S:
“As soon as Lebanon’s former president Emile Lahoud stepped down and left the presidential palace the International Lebanese Committee ( ILC) for UN Resolution 1559 issued the following press release urging the investigation of the crimes committed during Lahoud’s term in office:
The International Lebanese Committee ( ILC) for UN Resolution 1559 expresses its satisfaction that former President Emile Lahoud has finally left the Presidential Palace in Baabda after more than three years from his illegal extension of power, a breach of laws and principles which was addressed by one stipulation of the UN 1559 issued in September 2004, one day after the constitutional piracy was forced on the Lebanese People. However now that Mr. Lahoud has left the office, the Committee is calling on the UN special prosecutor in the Terrorist attacks in Lebanon since the fall of 2004 and the special envoy of the Secretary General of the UN to investigate General Lahoud regarding the following serious charges:
1. The Hariri and Lebanese politicians assassinations:
General Lahoud was an imposed President of Lebanon between October 2004 and November 2007. Under his Presidential mandate six political leaders, including legislators and a minister were savagely assassinated and two political activists murdered for political reasons. Under his Presidency the joint operations room between his regime, the Syrian regime and Hezbollah was still in function. General Lahoud was the higher supervisor of this joint operation room and thus is aware of the cooperation between the two regimes and Hezbollah in Lebanon during this period of time. A UN investigation with General Lahoud is now warranted in the Terror assassinations of Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri, MP Basem Fleihan and their escort, Samir Qassir, George Hawi, MP Gebran Tueni, Minister and MP Pierre Gemayel, MP Walid Eido and MP Antoine Ghanem. General Lahoud as the highest security official overseeing the joint intelligence operation room along with the Syrian regime and Hezbollah must be investigated at once by the UN investigation committee.
2. The assassination of Lebanese activists:
General Lahoud, being the head of the regime between 1998 ad 2007 and the highest authority overseeing the intelligence joint operation room with Syria and Hezbollah, should also be investigated in the assassination of Lebanese political activists who were kidnapped, tortured and killed between 1998 and 2007.
3. The Lebanese detainee in Syria:
General Lahoud, being the head of the regime between 1998 ad 2007 and the highest authority overseeing the intelligence joint operation room with Syria and Hezbollah, should also be investigated in the illegal arrest, kidnapping and transfer to Syrian jails of hundreds of Lebanese and non Lebanese national where they were tortured and some have been killed while others are still unaccounted for.
4. The Lebanese military and civilians murdered in 1990
General Lahoud, having deserted the legal Lebanese Army in 1990 and appointed by a Syrian-backed Government as a new commander of a Syrian controlled Lebanese Army that same year took responsibility for a joint Syrian-Lebanese military operation against the Ministry of Defense and the Presidential Palace in Lebanon between 7 AM and 5 PM on October 13, 1990. During that operation hundreds of Lebanese soldiers and civilians were executed against all norms of international law and a number of military personnel and civilians were detained and transferred to Syria. General Lahoud should be investigated for information he may have kept about these executions and the fate of the vanished persons.
The Committee 1559 also calls on the parents and relatives of all the victims mentioned above to inform the UN Investigation Commission about all questions related to these crimes and acts of terror, so that the investigation with General Lahoud can be comprehensive.”
