Wa3ad.org Copying Beirutspring.com Posts

Miscalleneous

It Just came to my attentions (thanks Moussa) that wa3ad.org, a pro-Hezbollah portal is copying some of my posts.

So far, they took the post where I criticized the upcoming 24-hour Future TV channel, and the one where I profiled Robert Ghanem.

What I found most interesting is this: Considering the fact that their cherry-picking has an agenda, could it be that Mr. Ghanem is Hezbollah’s choice for President?

Wa3ed.org reacted to this post:

editor’s comments: In “Explained in Blogs’ section, we try to choose posts mostly from the blogs that reflect the Lebanese ‘spirit’, and ‘The Beirut Spring’ blog is one of the best blogs that cover the Lebanese affairs. It is true that we have some different points of view with the respected blogger, but we also (as many other people) enjoy his attractive way of commenting on the daily Lebanese events.

  1.

    Ghanem is completely untrustworthy.

Or that they wanted an advertisement via this post?

Well I’m sure hes their best choice out of the three consensus possibilities that the Patriarch supposedly put forth:

    Robert Ghanem
    Michel Khoury
    Michel Edde

Tarabi and Kattar are also on the list supposedly…

Personally, I want Boutrus Harb…but if we’re going to insist on consensus than I would choose Michel Edde…any ideas?

Seems like Edde’s name is going around a lot in the last 2 days. He’s really close to the Patriarch and hes very capable in my opinion. Only thing is that he is old and might not consider himself a candidate. Also, how likely is it that Hezballah accepts him? It really depends on his promise to ignore international resolutions and commit to protecting Hezb’s status quo in Lebanon.

Will March 14 accept these kinds of concessions? Are we prepared for the alternative…fluffy fluff Ghanem.

    Edde would rule himself out??

You are kidding, the guy has been dreaming of this since he was wetting his pants.

Anyway I don’t trust him, he’s jumped on the resistance wagon in recent years just to prep for becoming prez.

I’m not so concerned about the disappearance of Robert Fisk as I am about the disappearance of Michael Young. Michael Young writes every Thursday in the opinion section of The Dailystar and is quite insightful. However, I have not seen any articles by him for over 5 weeks. Anybody know of his whereabouts?
