Hello from New York City.
I just wanted to apologize for the dearth of postings. I just can’t seem to get hold of a reliable internet connection that I can access at any point in time.
I’m sure there’s a lot of new exciting stuff going on in the Lebanese political scene (ok I was kidding), and I hope that by the middle of next week, we should be back to some serious blogging where we can discuss Lebanese serious and not-so-serious issues. Thank you all for your patience.

The beirut spring is a blog that is interested in Lebanese society and its politics. It started in February 2005 after the assassination of Prime Minister Rafik Hariri

Funny Mustapha you touring the States in these times. I’m in Paris. Let’s hope France is more ’sincere’ than American ’seriousness’ referring to your post ;)

Hope you’re liking NY, Mustapha. I’ve been here since September with an internship at the UN and I absolutely adore this city!

Is this true??

To Star,
I think it is a lie made of Hizballah propaganda.
But let’s take the scenario that it is true: what is the problem in that? Do we need Khamenei’s permission to have ties with the US?
Or if you go with the scenario: none should interfere in Lebanese internal affairs. Great! Then Persian revolution guardians, that trains hisballa, MUST leave Lebanon immediately because they are an occupation force.
