Syria’s President: Lebanese Majority Follows Israel

Miscalleneous

The Syrian president re-iterates his Bush-esque position: You’re either with us, or with Israel.

In an interview with a Tunisian newspapers, Assad effectively labeled half the Lebanese people as traitors:

“there have always been in Lebanon forces attached to the Arab (identity). But there are also forces which, since Lebanon’s creation and even before, have tied their fate to the West, thus putting (their country) in danger.”

He then repeated his trademark threats:

“Lebanon was stable when it followed the Arab line, supported the resistance and opposed itself to Israel.”

Allow me to translate that into English:

We will keep bombing and killing the Lebanese and their elected leader until they learn to submit to our will. If that happens, will then give them something that looks like “stability” in which they do as we tell them to do.

  3. Arabs really anger me when they teach Lebanese about the “Arab Line”, I hate this “line” but it’s Lebanese that created that stupid line and destroyed their country for that stupid line while they where busy making peace with the enemy and selling themselves. If the arabs did 1% of the stuff they talk about half the problems in the world wouldn’t exist. I hate arab leaders w 3a rason this clown but I wonder who’s more stupid, them or the Lebanese still believing the sh*t they keep saying!

  4. It is a golden opportunity for the Lebanese government: sign peace now with Israel.
This opportunity might not be optional in the future, with different parties in the government.
What does Lebanon and M14 have to lose?

  5. Bashar is doing more than killing Lebanese politicians and leaders. He is planning, under the Persian supervision, a demographic changes in Lebanon!

What I fear is that the growing Demographic imbalance will change the face of Lebanon. As the West came and took Palestine, I fear the Persian coming from the East and taking our beloved Lebanon!

  6. Man, the logic is flawless…

M14 is pro Israel, so Israel blows them up and tries to strengthen the opposition, which happens to be pro Arab and pro resistance, thus making Israel an ally of Syria and Hezbollah.

But wait, it’s even better than that!

So Israel is responsible for strengthening the very people who kidnap its own soldiers! But wait! Since that resistance is vehemently anti Israel and pro Arab, and Israel is helping them out, then that must mean Israel is anti-Israel and pro Arab!

Ladies and Gentlemen: It appears the greatest anti-Israel of them all is none other than Israel!

This would make a great time-space paradox episode of Star Trek, if it weren’t real life.

    Sadly, it is real.

as long you don’t think, no logic is flawless…

Basing on the average joe sheeple (with a gun, for sure), what you consider more realistic:

    A) The guy listen to some of the (countless) rants you, GK, JW, Mus, Jeha, et al (and others) had raised and stop to think about.
B.1) “Viva Quds!”, (bullets in air) “Viva Zapata” (more bullets) “Viva the divine Hole Master” (the rest of the magazine)
    [optional]
B.2) “Viva Napoléon” (and a small gun is heard)

  12. Is it me, or is Assad being just a wee bit racist here?

Lebanon should be pro Arab, but anti West.

Now, “West” is a term fraught with complexity and ambiguity (as all vast generalities necessarily are) but it does refer to a set of ideas that have been successfully applied by people of a variety of races - political freedom, free markets, universal human rights, reason untethered to ethnicicty, country, sex, etc…,. Imperfectly applied of course, but if you’re looking for perfection, try another planet.

“Arab,” as Assad is using the term, refers explicitly to a race.

It is amazing to me the pass the “Arab World” gets on these things. Assad, if his words are being correctly reported, is making as overtly racist a statement as any card-carrying KKK member ever did.

It’s almost as if the expectations for that part of the world are low or someting.

Also, the threat implied here makes me skeptical of the notion that peace is the highest ideal.

Assad is offering a kind of peace to those who do what he tells them to.

  15. Ok now everthing has to be in the “kiss” formula… It semms that the arnab of Joolan has been trapped. He has become rabid. I say if anything Hassan should ask his buddies in Israel to “off” the imaginary eye doctor in Damascus. Time for US to convince the dum Israeli leaders that Bashar has “expired”…and his usefulness kaput! Time for someone to take out the TRASH.

  16. To Persian chick,

The only thing I like in Persian culture is the Persian food. For the rest, Lebanese have little things in common with Persia. Your country is closer to India and Pakistan then to us. The point in common is Islam: Arabs did you good by imposing on you Islam using force. In other words, I feel Iran as weired country with Mystic and Nihilistic ideologies.

Semitic people, especially Arabs Babylonians and Phoenicians have a history of wars with Persia. I don’t fear the Zionist games, because I know their intentions by heart. While Persians pretend good and hide Evil!

400 years of Ottoman presence in Lebanon didn’t alter its population love for freedom and life. Persian might achieve some progress, but we will use blood and fire to stop them.

Proudly, I support Western coalition for freeing countries occupied by Persia. Looking forward to see Ahwaz, Kurdustan and Baluchestan independent countries, Inchallah soon!

  17. What I love about Lebanon, is that we have too much enemies; for a small country, we get to choose our enemies selectively :)

    Well said Beirut Spring.

  18. OY , my little wannabe Lebanese , Samy !

Sami :”The only thing I like in Persian culture is the Persian food. For the rest, Lebanese have little things in common with Persia. Your country is closer to India and Pakistan then to us. Your zionist tale is picking throw that Lebanese flag you have wrapped yourself in. No, Arab Muslim will ever say that Islam used force to convert anyone , my little kosher mashuga :) By the way it was the same Iran with “Mystic and Nihilistic ideologies” that freed your forefathers from slavery and allowed you to write your Babylonian mumbo jumbo or what you call the “Babylonian Talmud”

Sami : “Semitic people, especially Arabs Babylonians and Phoenicians have a history of wars with Persia. I don’t fear the Zionist games, because I know their intentions by heart. While Persians pretend good and hide Evil!”

Of course you don’t fear the Zionazi games , you are one of the players in this game. Now tell me what evil has Iranians ever brought upon you Kosher decoy wannabe Arab ?!!

Sami : “Proudly, I support Western coalition for freeing countries occupied by Persia. Looking forward to see Ahwaz, Kurdustan and Baluchestan independent countries, Inchallah soon! ”

Occuied Ahwaz and Baluchestan my ass !! We are all Iranian first before we think of our ethnic back ground , not that a “tribal ” mentality of a zionist like you can grasp that. The same Ahwazis , our brave Iranian Arabs , were the first Iranians that defended our borders against Saddam in 1980 until the national Army reached the border .

Again your Zionist self is shining through your drag of being a Lebanese patriot. Only a Zionist would want to divide the middle east to little tribalistan . How did your plan worked out for creating civil war in Lebanon and establishing an Israeli friendly e Maronite state in South Lebanon ? Didn’t work out ?!! you got your butt kicked all the way from Beirut back to your zionazi land ?!! What a shame !! I will sit Sheva for you before Iran can be divided.

  19. Dear Persian Chick,

I like your answer because I see clearly that you lost your temper!
I am proudly Lebanese and I don’t mind Jewish people nor I want to exterminate them, like your silly Najad shouting all days long. He deserves humiliation in NY, lol!

I look forward for peace with all my neighbors, including Israel. Look at Jordan, Egypt ”and Syria”. They are enjoying calm borders with Israel. Why not Lebanon? In other words, I don’t give dam about your nuclear ambition and I don’t want Lebanon to be destroyed, e.g. july 2006, for the sake of the persian nuclear project!!!!

Americans, in full collaboration of Persia, destroyed Irak to divide it and they both stole the oil. From that perspective I think Iran shall endure the same chaos and division.

Saddam was a freak, but at on Persian wars, I support him 100%

My dear, trust me, the mainstream Arabs in the Arabic Gulf (not persians gulf) countries as well Sunnnis in Syria, Lebanon and Irak think the same as me.

In other words, the rising Persian danger is even worst then the Neocons failed project and the declining Israeli state.

Looking forward for the destruction of the Persian nuclear project and the Freedom to Ahwaz, Baluchestan and Kurdestan.

    Ciao bella!
