And the most unconvincing defense for the FPM’s training pictures is this: “The pictures are very old, and they are taken from the cellphones of the arrested people”.
Just in case you thought that by “very old”, Mr. Aoun meant “civil war old”, you’d be excused to be perplexed by the cellphone dimension of the story. But don’t worry, the FPM has just what you need: Another excuse: The people in the picture -those girls and boys playing cowboys and Indians- are Mr. Aoun’s personal guard. Yeah, that should convince the skeptics.
Update: The story is changing again. Now their spokesperson is saying (H/T Ramzi) that the people in the picture “were just out having fun with real weapons but were not undergoing any military training as such,”, The Aounists are so freaked out they’re tripping all over each other with conflicting accounts.
So to recap: Those are very old photos taken on a cellphone for Aoun’s personal guards who are just having fun with real guns.

Hello, my name is Mustapha and I've been blogging about Lebanese society, business and politics since February 2005.
Your not concerned by this digusting behaviour of a police force acting as a political militia, because you feel it’s on your side.
Bankrupt blog, idiot sectarian blogger.
“They were just out having fun with real weapons but were not undergoing any military training as such,” said Alain Aoun, spokesman for the opposition Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) of MP and ex-army chief Michel Aoun.

To Mr. Pierre,
There is no “police force acting as a political militia”, there is just the rule of the law (which is the Lebanese Law and not the Iranian one)
Mr. Pierre, anybody who will disturb the peace in Lebanon will be arrested. Hezbo will have his turn by the 1559 (that your psycho leader help in creating)
Pierre this blog is stating the obvious . Justifying those pictures with such explanations is just plain retarded. Plus General Aoun’s use of fake pictures depicting the LF during HEzballah’s assault on Beirut in January probably forced the March 14 media outlets to seize the day and juice this orange to the max.
Also Pierre this is a blog if you find it like u said then just plain stop reading it and go to a one that pleases u.
Self explanatory…My main concern is these Christian youth that want to believe any BS that comes out of Aoun…Am I the only one or there’s something really wrong with the people of Lebanon…Not only they are Sheeple but it seems to me either they are on drugs or in a “trans”. If anyone can explain please help. As far as Pierre, he seems to be a juvenille delinquent whose parents should have thought him some manners! This is a civilized world Pierre, unlike the imaginary world you live in…Make your point politely and stop the dramatic propaganda…Most of us who live abroad feel sorry for people like you. Get well and get with the program!
Mus, I think you should post the caricature of Pierre Sadek somewhere on your website where we can download it,
LA TOUJADEL AWNIYYAN (never argue with an aounist)
They always seem to believe exactly the opposite and refuse to believe anything else
And Pierre, for the sake of God, el fehem faddalou 3al 3elem; “milishia el dawleh”? are you and your colleagues really that impossibly thick??? LOLOL
What sectarian blog?
I’m reading this blog for a while now, and still didn’t figured out the sect this bloger belongs to. Seriously. I bet on Christian or Sunni Muslim, but it’s only a guess.
.
Amir, LOL, please don’t try too hard. Mustafa a Christian? Why are you trying to guess anyways?
Excellent post title and excellent recap Mustapha…
…don’t bother with the comments
Morons aplenty…
There is more to war than “just out having fun with real weapons”. And those who do agree that those bozos were “not undergoing any military training” are not necessarily
sectarian. They are smart.
Not agreeing with Aoun (or not agreeing with him anymore) does not make you sectarian. It makes you smart.
I looked at the pictures posted and I burst out laughing!
Is this military training? Give me a break! The pictures are amateurish at best! Oversized clothes that look like they were passed around just for the picture… and girls who spent way too much time fixing their hair for someone naywhere close to being serious about firearms training.
Not too scary in my opinion. Just plain stupid behavior by a bunch of over-enthousiastic youths.
Aoun’s idea of fun sounds a lot like Nasrallah’s…
hehe, nice title.
Just right clicking the picture and selecting property will tell the judge the day and the hour it was taken, it’s not that hard to do!
2 things imo that show those pics are new is the fact that the guy still had them in his cell phone, and that the pics are of a good quality, in 2005 very few people had phones capable of taking pictures this good, but we will never know before the investigations.
Guys let`s be realistic. Anyone who went through military training, would simply realize that those (gianni versace) style pictures do not reflect a serious military training activity, rather a fashion statement, kids proud to hold real weapons and playing around with them. Those very pictures remind me of some pictures of myself at age 22, holding an automatic machine gun and pretending I am tough militia man. Instead of making a big deal out of those silly pictures, the `sherlok holmes` investigators should crack down on those those weapons and clock bombs ready to use from SNP members. The gov`t caught these weapons did a round up show on TV but no one was arrested. Silly idiots! They only play the tough with the weak. This is all cheap propaganda guys.
I agree with Dory, they look too clean for militiamen and women
Apparently, one of the girls is an instructor at AUB in the Mathematics department & she has not appeared on campus since Wednesday.
