Most of the coverage on the Naher Al Bared security situation this morning -where Fateh Al Islam attempted a last-ditch effort to escape at dawn- centered on the captured and killed elements from the terrorist group.
Aljazeera however, quotes a “Lebanese Army Source” who says that Shaker al Absi, the leader of the group, managed to flee the camp.
If that is true, an investigation must take place to know why and how this happened.
Update: According to Alarabiya who quoted a Lebanese army officer, Absi was killed in Sunday’s battles and his body was identified in a Tripoli hospital.

I don’t really trust al-jazeera, al-jazeera is an al kaida voice, they probably want to believe that he is still alive. I BET THET WISH HE IS STILL ALIVE. Al-jazeera is the biggest danger in the arab world in spreading islam extremism and blind hatered against the US through its news coverage.
I just heard they cough him in the Der 3mar area, hope it’s true.

There should be an investigation ANYWAY:
Why all the arms in the camp and how?
Why so long to take the camp?
Why is the army under-equipped?
Why no questions/criticims to Elias Murr who said it was over 2 months ago?
And so on…
And BTW,
The first asshole who utters the word “amnesty” should be quartered and shot immediately and repeatedly, in the main public square, even if it’s a HUNDRED effing years from now.
ALL the jerks who voted the Dinniyeh Islamists amnesty a few years back have the blood of the dead soldiers and dead civilians on their hands.
Maybe they let him go in exchange for an end to the standoff.
I am in favor of catching him alive and putting him on well televised trial. About time someone gets punished by the law for being in criminal in Lebanon. Then hang the sob.
