Nassrallah Seen Near U.S. Border

Miscalleneous

Well, at least a billboard of him was..

What Almanar forgot to mention is that the billboard was removed by Canadian authorities on the grounds that Hezbollah is officially a terrorist organization in Canada. (background story here)

Conservative blogs have highlighted a comment made by Emile Nabbout, president of the Windsor branch of Kataeb (they have a branch in Windsor??) in which he said: “Arabic writing which appears on the right side of the billboard does not match the English translation.” Mr. Nabbout could use some Arabic Lessons.

The Arabic side of the billboard reads (Arabic readers, check it out in the picture above):

“الجالية اللبنانية والعربية في مدينة ويندزر تهنئ الشعب اللبناني لصموده وسعيه لاحلال السلام”

Which is NOT about fighting as Mr. Nabbout says and is consistent with the English translation:

Lebanese and Arab communities in Windsor city congratulate the Lebanese people for their steadfastness and endeavor to establish peace in Lebanon.

  2. What gilbert said. They should force the people behind that billboard to go and paint cross-hairs over Hassan Nasrallah’s ugly face. Live on television. And then deport them back to Lebanon.

  3. It’s not enough that our idiotic parties are destroying Lebanon. Now, their idiotic supporters are keen on being Kataeb and Hezbo etc in their new homes.

Hey idiots, Hezbo and Kataeb is the reason you left Lebanon in the first place.

  4. For me it was more Hezbo than Kataeb

  5. I am not in love with Kataeb, but it’s not because of them that I had to leave home.

  6. I had to leave Lebanon because I was fed up from: Amal, Hezbollah, Aoun,LF, Kataeb, PSP, SSNP, PLO, Mourabitoun, corrupt politicians, sectarism etc…I will not put a billboard picture of Rafic Hariri in Montreal; so, I say to my shiaa brothers, please keep your leaders pictures at home and don’t poison our coexistence in the ‘mahjar’…

  7. I was told that Berri has huge assets in Detroit area and was given a warning from the US that his assets will be forzen if he prevent the election of a new president in Lebanon.

By the way, I came to the US “temprarily” to study. When I went back to Lebanon after graduation (yes, I went back after 6 years in the US), I couldn’t stand being stopped and questioned by illiterate Syrian Army! Since there was no organized resistance, I decided to go back to the US! If the situation then was what is the situation now, I will not leave Lebanon. Actually, I am coming back to Lebanon when I reach my retirement age!

  8. Oh I forgot, thanks GK, the illiterate Syrian soldiers who were dedicated to humiliate us at their checkpoints instead of liberating the Golan…

  9. Istiz the mahroum has huge assets in Detroit? Why doesn’t he share his wealth with the poor people from the South?

  10. I am astonished to see Lahoud’s picture on the billboard, does anybody really like him? And what is Hoss’ face doing there?

    Posted by kheireddine | August 14, 2007, 1:42 am
  11. I was going to ask who the other four faces belonged to.

I see that one of them is Emile Lahoud’s. But who is “Hoss” and who else’s picture is one the billboard?

  12. Is the FPM proud of Aoun being on the billboard with his allies? Of course, the General! A man who humiliates others, loses his temper on tv, compares people to what’s under his waist, calls people animals, and is a dictator. They can be proud when he represents them as their president - and acts like a moron. His campaign motto should be “Friend of terrorists and Syrians, and anti-Lebanon”. After all, why should he acknowledge the majority in gov’t that the Lebanese voted for? He acknowledges they voted for him and his MPs, but the rest are illegitimate?! Only so he can become dictator. FPM members, all together now….”Baaa, Baaa” follow your almighty shepherd.
Here’s a simple formula for you, so you can understand: Aoun = Lahoud.

  13. GK,
    >Since there was no organized resistance [against the Syrians]

Strange! I vividly remember there was, even though today it is much more fashionable to brush that point aside while insisting it does not matter what was happening then cause all that matters is who started resisting after the Syrian army left.

  14. Just exibiting the dirty laundry abroad, one more reason for the cons in Canada and America to propagate their anti immigration agenda .

  15. It is Israel who resists hezbo - if it were up to them - they would hunt Israel to extinction

  16. There is nothing more Americans or Canadiens hate than the importation of wars

do you notice how jews never fight back when they are attacked in europe - by arabs - for no reason. They dont want to import the war

in america - jews and arabs get along pretty well. They are friendly - and never bother eachother.

This element will hurt that - and most american arabs know this

  17. Probably an Aounist’s idea of building Canadian support. They have an application in to Canada for Orange TV broadcast. This should help rally that support - advertising pays.

  18. That billboard is actually more dimwitted than illegal immigrants demonstrating in the U.S. asking for amnesty and green cards while waving Mexican flags. Talk about Dumb and Dumber!
