How Seniora Spends His Time

Links

Wondering what our Prime Minister does with all his spare time in the Serail?

Take a look at this fawning ridiculously long “article” (Arabic) that Mr. Seniora wrote for a Saudi newspaper extolling king Abdallah’s virtues.. Mystery solved.

PS: If someone does end up reading it, please let us know what it’s about..

  1. Yuck! I’m not reading all that!

Saniora really needs to be spending less of his time writing idiotic articles and more of his time governing!

(And to think you and others get accused of being one-sided. Here’s some critique of the M14 side!)

  3. ok - I have question

There is “Arabia”…and there is the “Saudi Royal Family”…

are the two one in the same ?? - or - if the saudi royal family were overthrown…would there simply be a new family as king?

would love help understanding arab affairs better

  4. Reminds me of Siniora’s gaffe half a year ago, when he suggested that the “independent” minister in the hypothetical unity government could be appointed by Saudi Arabia. He’s been an okay prime minister so far, but sometimes I wonder what goes on in his head (if anything).

  5. While Siniora writes essays and odes to foreign kings, check out what Hezbollah’s been up to in the South:

  6. This type of activity on sanyoora’s part should not be called free time. This writing that he’s doing is nothing less than hard work. because he’s getting paid for it. a lot of money.

who else is interested in getting hooked up with the main source of cash? i know a guy who knows a guy who can hook you up with any saudi prince, king, or mid-management divinely-ordained royal in the divinely blessed kingdom. you can start getting paid directly for your blogging!

  11. Come on… you need to understand politics… knowing how politics work in the Gulf area, this article will ensure the continuity of the massive political and economic support for Lebanon… it is time wisely spent… you need to have the wit Senioura has to understand it…

  12. I support Saniora and I thank him for spending time writing to King Abdullah a Great and Generous King towards Lebanon. Mustapha, with all respect, instead of Bashing our Prime Minister you could make research about Nassrallah’s relation with Khamenei. That will help us understand the disasters that our country go through.

  13. Hahaha. Now this last comment is too funny.

When Mustapha bashes Nasrallah and Aoun, he gets accused of being an ardent M14 supporter, a Zionist and is told he only criticizes one side.

Then, when he says something critical of Siniora, he gets accused of not documenting the relationship between Nasrallah and Khamenei.

Why is it always one extreme or the other? Just because some of us support the ideals of M14 (a free and sovereign Lebanon) does not mean we can’t criticize some of the leadership when it shows its incompetence (and Siniora has shown incompetence on many levels so far!).

I don’t care how politics and favors are played in the Gulf. I want my PM to be governing. Specially when his country is falling apart. While 50% of the country is under the yoke of an illegal militia, people are getting assassinated, terrorists are going after the army in Nahr Al Bared, the president is talking about defying the constitution and handing over power to the army, the Army commander is considering defying the constitution and running for president…And while all this is going on, Siniora is sitting at a desk writing an essay like what 3rd graders do? “Describe in 5 pages what you admire about King Abdallah”. What a joke!

  14. I don’t think that Sanioura personnaly wrote this, there are many scribes under him that must have done the job in his name. I can’t say I read it, (neither sanioura or the king did!) but it falls naturally in the arabic litterature style known as the “made7″ (translated in english as : “keep kissing my ass, more, more, kiss my ass, …”)
Al Moutanabi wrote two famous (and very very long) poems in the same style.
The first one was: Made7 Sayf al Islam, and the second is known as : Made7 Kafour.
In the first one al Moutanabi puts a lot of true feelings in describing how Sayf al Islam kicked some roumis ass in a fortress and saved the Islamic kingdom .
In the second one, al Moutanabi goes commercial style poetry and write nice sentences, with perfect rhymes and flowing words … All to get from Kaffour (the eunuch slave who became sultan of a big territory) a region of his sultanat for moutanabi to reign on.
For those who read the article , is it more comparable to made7 Sayf al Islam, or more like Made7 Kaffour?

  16. To Bad Vibel,
Siniora is not perfect, but under these terrible circumstances, he showed that he’s a strong statesman capable of defying Hizbollah in a smooth way while keeping his Cold Blood, Siniora’s secret weapon. As for King Abdallah: thanks to him that Nassrallah didn’t invade the Serail. Do you remember in last December when King Abdallah called Siniora and all the Cabinet ministers. He clearly declared that messing with Siniora is like messing with KSA. Iran feared Sunni/Shii clash and the Serail became a Red Line, thanks to King Abdullah of course. That’s way it’s worth writing tons of pages and hours for him. Plus Billions of dollars are given by KSA to Lebanon and Lebanese who work over there…
