Hezbollah Missile Launchers In Beirut?

Links

The website of March 14 has a story about Hezbollah moving Missile launchers into the heart of Beirut for the first time.

Next stop: Beirut? (please refer to comments on the photo)

The article refers to the Russian news agency as its source. I have spent the last hour scouring the internet for the original source and I couldn’t find it. Could this be just scare mongering from March 14? or is it perhaps a scoop that still needs some time to unfold?

    Mustafa,
Please don’t use photos that were not part of the story published. It confused us and could be misunderstood that it is fabrication.

During last year war, Hizbullah tried to fire missle from Baabda – Kafrsheima area but either malfunctioned or was hit before launching. If you recall Al-Jazeer directly declared it was an Israeli airplane hit by Hizbullah!

I will not be surprised if Hizbullah will use Beirut to hide missiles but it will be difficult to launch from urban areas.
Anyway, the area that will be used will be flat in few minutes!!!

I kinda like the photo (as I do Mustapha’s taste in choosing decorations in general), but maybe the caption could clarify that it has nothing to do with the news item?

This picture was taken in July 1982 on the crossroads of Mazraa Blvd and Tallet El Khayat Rachidine Blvd. It is a ‘rajmeh’ rocket launcher used by the Mourabitoun or Fateh.

…I forgot, it was during the siege of Beirut by the Israeli Army.

Last year during there was an article in the Herald Tribune saying:

“…Israeli military officials said they succeeded in hitting a rocket launcher in Beirut carrying one of Hezbollah’s longest-range rockets, an Iranian Zelzal, with a range of 62 to 124 miles.”

So i guess they had them already.

Hezbollah should move some missile launchers to Rabieh, in particular to the residency of his ally Michel Aoun.

By the way, how come people in the Metn still believe in Aoun? Strange. After destroying Lebanon in 1989, then 1990, now he’s back for more destruction.

    I think donkeys learn faster!

    What’s the surprise here?

During the ‘Tamooz war’ there were photos
and TV reports about ‘Zilzal’ rocket that
was intercepted by IAF over Beirut’s sky.
