we agree that there are sensibilities legitimate concerns when it comes to the Syrian behavior in Lebanon, but I think some people would argue that the fault is not one-sided. Regardless, one would think that people learn from their mistakes, but again corruption and greed drowns people in following the same route with another country-ies which is/are considered by a lot of Lebanese as an oppressor to Arabs and Muslims and always vetoing anything that favors their human right issues in the Security Council / United Nations. This is where the danger lies, by pulling Lebanon back to the previous Status-Quo but under a different flag-s this time.

So, I hope that we can agree that we need to focus on our internal problems and challenges to conform with each other as one sovereign nation with a set of common objectives which will give us the proper immunity, so in other way clean up our house before we invite anybody for dinner or for a business meeting or for auditing if you want etc…..

The agreement prescribed a cure for internal problems, and of course if you have any additional ideas to add value for the better will be great. We want you to join the unity and stop falling for this new propaganda of fear and lies that they are using through various ways to cave the people to their submission.

I did as you said and referred to the memorandum of understanding. Now I have a few more questions.Here’s an excerpt:

“8- Lebanese-Syrian Relations

assertion of the Lebanese identity of the Shebaa Farms and present these to the United Nations,
now that the Syrian state has declared the Shebaa Farms to be fully Lebanese.

B- To demarcate the borders between Lebanon and Syria away from the tensions that could
block this operation which both Lebanon and Syria have had a long-standing need to achieve
through a mutual agreement.

C- To ask the Syrian state to fully cooperate with the Lebanese state to uncover the fate of the
Lebanese detainees in Syrian prisons without the provocation, tension, and negativity that
would hinder a positive settlement of this file.

D- Establish diplomatic relations between the two countries and provide appropriate conditions
for them, thus transferring them from a relation between individuals and groups to a relation
between institutions in order to secure their permanence and stability.”

Here are my questions:
1.Why do Hizballah supporters always ignore the fact that the UN requested written confirmation from Syria that the Shebaa farms are Lebanese and they refused to give it.I mean all it would take is a paper saying : It’s not ours. Would you please comment on this.

2.Why should we leave the Lebanese prisoners in syrian jails, so that (according to the memorandum)we do not have”tension and negativity”, shouldn’t we be tense and negative if Lebanese citizens are illegally held in ALL foreign jails? Wasn’t that Hizballah’s reason for the war last summer? Or do the Lebanese in syrian jails not count as much as the Lebanese in Isreali jails?

3.There is nothing in this about land occupied by syrians, should we keep quite on this so we don’t have “tension and negativity” too?

4. In your heart of hearts khaled, and if you are honest with yourself, do you not at least have a little bit of suspicion that Syria has had a hand in assasinations/arming pro-syrian palastinain armed forces/ a camp full of salafist maniacs that is conveniently located on the sea side near the syrian border? Be honest, not even a little suspicion?

How’s about we at least admit that Lebanon has more than one enemy? Or even if Hizballah doesn’t think of the syrian regime as an enemy perhaps they should respect the opinion of the millions of Lebanese who do, and stop dealing with them in a “privileged relationship”. I mean didn’t it upset you even a little when Nasrallah gave “Dur3 al Muqauameh” to them?

Militant vs. civilians is an asymmetrical relationship. Car bombs and suicide bombers result in mass murder and many injured casualties. In the present, mass murder is rare within western democracies but such events occur DAILY where tribalism and sectarianism continue to exist. Many Lebanese have risen above that depravity, others persist in that kind of activity, all the while claiming that the source of the problem is elsewhere. If Khaled is in Lebanon then the problem is in Lebanon.
