New Tshirts

Demonstrations are being planned across the world against the killing machine that is targeting us. There will be one in Ottawa next Monday and another in Geneva on the 23rd of June (Friday).
Since I can’t be in any of these demos, I am contributing by designing these Tshirts that you can wear to make powerful statements. (click on the Ts if you want to buy)

Don’t forget to tell me what you think..

  1. Good msg and great design Will there be demos in other countries? there are so many Lebanese living in diaspora and now its the time to send a powerful msg to Damascus and the world

  2. I wish that they give us a one week notice for the demo so I can plan to attend. Anything in Washington, DC? Date?

  3. Mus just one thing.

Surely you do not hate the Syrian people themselves? It is the regime that you have problems with.

If this hate towards the regime is confused and generalized towards the whole Syrian people, you will have a whole new can of worms to deal with in the future.

    Do keep this in mind.

  4. Good – Damascus is getting the point that it is backwards like the old soviets

Expect a quiet revolution in Syria

one where they begin to expect better of – and for – them selves than bothering Lebanon and Israel and siding with the jihadis

They deserve (and are probably being threatened with) an a** whipping for the way they have helped kill american troops in iraq – murdered lebanese pol’s and rearmed hezballah to kill israelis

  5. Brilliant, Mustapha!!!!
Stupid question though; why is the women’s Tees more expensive than the men’s? Sexism, misogyny, or both? ha ha, just busting your chops (since I’ve yet to get an answer to the email request i sent you a while back.)

but in seriousness, since we’re congenital chaos-spreading taboo/stereotype-breakers, why not have a “same-price-unisex” tee for $14.99??

  6. love it!! also the comments by “another_someone” above are valid. I would emphasize the current Syrian regime somehow over Syria…

  7. So, you have conducted your own invesitgations and have found evidence that Syrians are behind all the bombings and the killings, whilst all the other regional and international players who have poked their bloody fingers into Lebanon for decades are all freedom-loving, innocent by-standers who wish us nothing but peace and harmony?

“Stop…targeting freedom-loving Lebanese,” my ass!! How much more childish can you get? Or, is your audience that mentally deficient? How many more of you out there believe this crap?

  8. ali… about 75% of us childish, mentally deficient, freedom loving Lebanese believe this to be true…

    is there a problem?

  9. If your ilk are 75%, then hold free elections and take the country once and for all and stop this nonesense..

  10. Ali, don’t let about those childish folks bother you! I suffered the same problem – anytime I speak about how nice the assadian corporation is people start to look at me with funny faces.
You see, they are doing a very nice job of street redecoration, remember how those beirut streets were ? Not fashion, *really* not fashion, lad. Now look at them, some vibrant red splash on the walls, a real black that adds a nice overall touch, some masterly crafted iron art pieces in the sidewalks (don’t let those simple ignorants dismiss it as ugly burned cars – it’s ART) and those craters that force people to drive slow and – presto – much less car accidents, you see, they care a lot about our safety.
All of this and people still complain. I really can’t get it.

  11. Hey guys, thanks for the support! It’d be awesome if you guys help spread the word around (maybe by gifting the shirts to people you like ;) or just emailing them about them )

    louis,
Never got your email.. could you resend it?
As for the pricing, well, there is also a normal white T for men for 14$, but I opted for the cheaper one (after all, you don’t want to spend money on a tshirt that will eventually get blood stains)

    Ali,
Only idiots and collaborators think that someone other than Syria is killing our March 14 politicians.

When I designed the “Stop bombing Lebanon” T-shirt during the July war, not one single Lebanese got up and said: “So you mean syria is innocent of Lebanese blood?”. We accept that Israel is an aggressor, but unfortunately your side won’t even concede any Syrian culpability and your TV anchors gleefully applaud our deaths.

What I’m saying is that I’m glad that we are the ones with the upper moral hand…

  12. Not Syrians – Syrian leaders please – there is a HUGE difference – dont look like a biggot

  13. Mustapha,

You sorta sound like Hezbollah by calling others collaborators. And of course by claiming the “moral upper hand.” I’m sure you didn’t intend to do that though …

  15. Hey folks,
    In my point of view we’re ALL clients of the assadian corporation. Our fellow lebs: shia, sunni, maronites, druzes, devil worshipers, etc;
AND also the syrian commoners – that like us are clients and like us are NOT happy.
Our contract was void’ed some time ago! time to notify the ‘street redecorator’ – as (very damn) well our divine local *subcontractors*

  16. So I am now either a collaborator or an idiot for suggesting that others may have a hand in trying to ferment Lebanese-Lebanese violence?

I said above,” ..you have…found evidence that Syrians are behind all the bombings and the killings.” I did not say that Syria is not behind any killings, but neither do I have any evidence to prove that. I was merely suggesting that there are regional and international players who continue to benefit from the festering political strife in this little country of ours, and think sometimes that your discourse can be elevated a tidbit to become a little more complex, nuanced, real, and historically and politically informed.

But you continue to live, at least in this blog, the fairy-tale of a simple-minded evangelically-inspired story of “we are good, they are evil,” not unlike the Chief kook in the White House today whose destructive designs for the ME have brought nothing but death and misery to countless millions and on whose bad graces and worthless words you continue to hang your hopes and dreams.

However you spin it, and whether you have the upper hand, politically, now or not, you cannot get rid of half of the country. This embattled army of ours is a case in point. It would take a single call from Nasrallah, Berri and Aoun, and the army would be no more. That’s how pathetic this nation of ours is. You want to claim this army for the government, but in reality, when push comes to shove, each soldier belongs to his or her own sect in the end.

Lebanon is made up of all these fragile pieces, yet your camp wants to keep pushing their singular agenda down the other half’s throat. Again, you think you have the clout now, but towards what end? Where exactly are you going with all this? Do you think that the Hezb in the end will just hand its weapons, and Aoun will just kiss Ja’ja’s hands and beg for mercy?

I did not mean for this to be this long, but you continue to harp on such nonsense, it makes me wonder in which reality you live. Your typical chorus of like-minded supporters, exploiters, is not helping your situation either. So step out of your delusions and look at the real world around you. Take a trip to the other camps’ areas and talk to their people, and you will see how your excited and provincial ideas find little place in their lives. Cyberspace is not reality. You can live any dream on the net. The real world can be quite different.

  17. Ali,

Your arguments apply to both sides of the fence.

Delusional and devoid from reality? Why on earth did hassan Nassrallah drag his people with him on March 8 to thank the very party everyone else was blaming for killing us?

How would it feel if March 14 made a demo after the July war to thank Israel for killing the Shias?

When people in the north were being slaughtered by the Syrians in the 80s, Nassrallah couldn’t care less about what “people on the street” think, so please stop giving me crap…

  18. Mustapha,

The Syrians were killing Shia before they laid a hand on anyone else. Give them credit, they were not prejudiced.

  19. HEY mus ARE YOU GOING TO DONATE THE PROCEEDS TO THE MARCH 14 MOVEMENT – I SINCERELY HOPE THAT THE MONEY ISNOT GOING INTO YOUR POCKET RIGHT?

    LETS CONTRIBUTE IT THE FOLLOWING:

    -ARMY
    -DISPLACED PALESTINIANS
-DISPLACED LEBANESE FROM LAST YEARS WAR
-CHARITIES IN LEBANON FOR ALL PURPOSES

    WHAT DO YOU ALL SAY?

  20. Merhi,

Mustapha deserves any proceeds made from the sale of t-shirts. He’s providing a service. He’s spent countless hours designing shirts, banners, logos, redeveloping this site, and publishing his thoughts on issues.

Given the services he provides, he deserves a lot more than a buck or two from a t-shirt. We’re willing to pay 2,000LL a day for paper, but we won’t pay Mustapha $5 for years of work?

  21. Thanks Charles for the defense, but don’t worry Merhi, I’m not making money out of this.

I have rounded up the prices of the items simply to have enough proceeds to cover the cost of the shop itself (which is not for free),

So in a way, it’s a service that pays for itself. It doesn’t pay me..
