CK, that’s a good article. Thanks for the link, I hadn’t read it. But realistically, do you think Hezbollah would stop, if Israel signs a peace deal with the Arabs? Or would they just exploit Palestinian lands to further attack Israel? Could anybody in lebanon guarantee that hezbollah would be restrained? Could any Arab country make that guarantee? Hezbollah doesn’t even answer to Arab interests. I won’t even ask how the Arab countries intend to restrain Palestinians, but in view of recent events, d you believe that the Palestinians are of one mind re: Israel?
And suppose the peace was broken, after Israel made so many territorial concessions. Does Israel take back the land they just gave up? And BREAK a treaty they just signed with 12 Arab countries?
It doesn’t seem reasonable to expect Israel sign a peace treaty that supposedly guarantees peace and security, when in actuality nobody can offer that guarantee on the Arab side.
Yes Mus, Sarko is nice, but enough already.
Hariri is nice too, but he must DO something other than phone calls to the mighty, and photo ops.
And CK, Plastic Ono Saniora is nice but he is worthless, singing Give Peace A Chance.
He can’t get out of his office and now he wants to solve the Israeli conflict by singing Kumbaya?? Why are we paying these idiots?
Ok why the attacks? Anywhere in there did I have an oppinion on Siniora’s op-ed? I just thought it was worth more exposure and analysis that Hariri’s photo op with Sarko and Chirac.
I agree it is SUPER simplistic and idealistic. I love Siniora for that, but I agree we need to walk the walk not just talk, and Kumbaya wont happen.
I just thought it was worth the debate. I also think it is amazing that the New York Times published something that said that the arabs want peace and Israel does not. Do we all agree?
Frankly, I didn’t find Seniora’s piece any ground breaking.
I found it dull, unimaginative and cliché ridden.
Kids, kids calm down
I love this picture, reminds me of the 3 stooges for some reason (tic).
