So how did the Lebanese press and various parties react to Aoun’s showing yesterday? let’s have a look
Annahar & Albalad were impressed by Aoun’s Showing.
Both mainstream newspapers reported professionally on the matter, with a hint of grudge in Annahar

Al-Akhbar (Hezbollah Supporters) used the below image to make a point: See the hot chicks and clean-shaven guys wearing orange? don’t you dare say they are not real Christians or Hezbollah supporters.

Almustaqbal in denial: Aoun showing? what Aoun showing? wasn’t the event cancelled? How about publishing even more pictures of Saad Hariri, Walid Jumblat, Fuad Sanioura and the Saudi King?

Lebanese Forces.. Well, you judge from this picture circulating in LF circles.
I received one from an LF friend. The email was entitled: IRANGE event

The beirut spring is a blog that is interested in Lebanese society and its politics. It started in February 2005 after the assassination of Prime Minister Rafik Hariri

God works in mysterious ways.
Or
God has a twisted sense of humor.

I feel a bit sad for almustaqbal tv (I don’t really know the paper from before 2005) it had (and still has) so many great talents, it feels such a shame to waste it all in becoming a narrow minded propaganda machine.
I have nothing against propaganda machines, its the closed mindedness that bothers me.
Oh well.
On a side note, I found LBC’s new coverage of the event rather balanced.

If you really want Lebanon to nourish and rise again, in my opinion this should be acknowledged:
Michael Aoun is the dominant and most popular Christian Leader.
Being in denial about GMA will not prevent this populist National Christian Lebanese Leader from taking his place in all aspects. In fact, this denial from some people is only feeding his popularity. Lebanon will only rise again under this clean populist, because of his honesty and clarity in Objectives.
Every Lebanese has a responsibility to demand opening all the corruption files, All the Lebanese should ask for auditing and demand accountability for the 45 Billion dollars compounded in debt? Those thieves how are still in power should be held accountable no matter who they are and how influential they are. If we live in a democratic country as we say, then we (Lebanese People) are the only leaders and we have rights. I am sick of those politicians who unjustly think that they own Lebanon and its people. We really need a major change in our political system, otherwise my Lebanese friends; prepare yourselves to live all your life abroad.
Note: I am not a member of the FPM, but I am impressed!

Al-Akhbar (Hezbollah Supporters) used the below image to make a point: See the hot chicks and clean-shaven guys wearing orange? don’t you dare say they are not real Christians or Hezbollah supporters
This is says more about your own prejudices than any thing else.

As if those that were going to buy the Mustaqbal newspaper couldn’t just glance over and see what the other newspapers were reporting. This is so foolish of them, to lose credibility in this way. When something happens, just report it!
Praise the Lord that the “March 14″ don’t control Lebanon, it would seriously be Anjar replaced by Qoraytem!!

I am impressed at how much people are dumb in my country … and I am just realizing that it will take decades if we’re hopeful enough to educate people that running behind the individual will get us in nothing else but shit … and we still have to start.

The future newspaper is the only newspaper that didn’t put a picture or comment the orange phenomena defeating the rain……….it showed the vampires that are destroying lebanon(jumblat, and baby saad)…………
This newspaper sucks big time………like all future movement airheads……….
General Aoun is not just a christian leader…………he is the one and only lebanese leader……….that showed on sunday……………

Anonymous 7:05 I totally agree!!! This country is doomed and i give up. In fact, i left last year and will not return. I’m through being miserable. Happy in the USA and thank God i won’t be there for the next round of civil strife, it’s as certain as death and taxes!

I agree with Omega80. It’s news, just report it. That what ‘news’papers are for. Aren’t they?
As for Anonymous 5:02. I feel sorry for you.

Carine, it’s not that hard to figure out is it?
You FPM friend send it to show you a joke in a haha funny context.
Moustapha’s friend sent him a proof that FPM are lunatics.
Frankly, regardless of how funny it is, I think people who take jokes in rally too seriously and use them to build their political view are carrying it a bit too far to say the least.
From “faja’nakom moo” to “genesis 13/10″ it’s just a bunch of guys who gather the night before and try to figure out the “coolest” slogan they can think of to hold in the rally. Some will be funny and some will be silly, it should not mean more than that.
