Aito Tower Targeted

Uncategorized

The Israelis have just bombed a very picturesque place.

I usually spend summer in Ehden, where the above picture is taken. The picture also shows the latest target of Israeli bombing: The Aito tower. We thought Ehden was safe and we were thinking of moving there.

Now we’re thinking again

  2. no place is safe until your country gives us back our two soldiers. Israel will not negotiate and will not forgive your aggression. Hezbollah started this, your prime minister has done nothing to help end it.

  3. Mustapha, no where is safe. Be careful.

The Israelis have many people like anonymous above. Uneducated. (stupid actually). Brainwashed. Have no clue where Lebanon is (they think we’re east, not north and goes back to the uneducated thingy). And they actually think that we give a shit what they say….those Israelis sure are funny.

  5. War is hell.

I’ve seen some photos of Haifa, a picturesque port city. Looks different with all those rockets raining down on it.

  6. It will probably get worse too unless people put pressure on Hezbollah to return the soldiers and stop firing the rockets.

It is interesting that Israel actually telephoned people in the Southern region to tell them to leave. Can you remember when in history an army was polite enough to telephone first?

You should be demanding those soldiers be returned. THAT is the cause of all the destruction.

  7. No country has a monopoly on stupid uneducated people. Apparently a lot of Lebanese think having a terrorist organization that lobs rockets at a well armed and aggresive neighbor is good for them. Oh well I just wish these morons would only kill other morons.

  8. this all started when LEBANESE Hezbollah attacked Israel, KILLED 8 SOLDIERS and captured 2. Lets not forget this. I have no sympathy for the aggressor nation and the aggressor is Lebanon. BUT FOR Hezbollahs attack there would be no war now. Simple logic. Israel withdrew from Lebanon 6 years ago, Lebanon was free of Israeli troops, what more can you want? The release of the child killers in Israeli prisons? HA! NEVER.

  9. you dont have to give a shit about what I say, but I guarentee that you will give a shit when our air force knocks at your door. Give us back our soldiers and this ends tomorrow, dont and there wont be much of a Lebanon or a Hezbollah left.

  10. It looks like Hitler has come to life on the internet and has posted right above me..except he says he is from Israel. Hope the Hauge is good to all of you Israel commanders after this.

  11. hey you anonymous, just like you i’m from israel, and i gotta admit i hate people like you more than i hate hizballah. stupid and uneducated, as someone above said, and also, might i add, full of his own sense of power. you just see your own side.
mustapha, as you know we are not all bloodthirsty imbeciles like that.

    Posted by Guy | July 22, 2006, 8:00 pm
  12. and also, dear anonymous, if you’d actually read what mustapha writes, you’d realize that blaming him for hizballah is like blaming you for the creation of the PLO.
    eize ahabal.

  13. cant blame him for Hezbollah, cant blame his government, cant blame Syria, cant blame Iran, who are we to blame? Ourselves of course, right? LMAO. Im sorry for being born a jew, Im sorry I dont believe in the prophet, insha allah I wont burn in hell.

People who give aid and comfort to the people who kill us are to blame and that is precisely who I blame. Lebanon as a sovereign nation is obligated to police its people, failure to do so means its sovereignty goes out the door. Police Hezbollah, give us back our soldiers, or get out of the way, head north and IDF will do it the hard way. And your ad hominems about my education are wide off, Im a lawyer! There are 4 UN resolutions calling for the disarmament of Hezbollah. Lebanon hasnt even attempted to comply with them. Time is up.

  14. Yes, nice place, to bad the Lebanese people allow Hezbollah terrorists to operate in their midst. I don’t want war in Lebanon; I just wish the peaceful people of the Middle East would clean up their own countries. If you harbour terrorists and people who call for the wholesale eradication of westerners and Jews then chances are you will be treated as an enemy and dealt with accordingly. Anonymous bombers and terrorists are cowards and will remain in the gun sights of those who strive for a world peace until the threat that they pose is terminated, join the rest of the world and try to live peacefully. Shame on your Government, shame on Hezbollah and most of all shame on the people of Lebanon for being weak and allowing Hezbollah to operate in your country.

  15. I assume that by, “those who strive for a world peace” you mean the war mongers who are killing these innocent Lebanese: US and Israel.

Please refrain from the use of the propagandist “unspeak” term, terrorism, unless you truly know what it means.

Terrorist acts do not exempt powerful and rich states. The US has committed plenty of terrorist acts in Haditha and Fallujah, and Israel is doing the same by targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Shame on you for not knowing that the word terrorism was born from government excesses during the French Revolution, to describe what the powerful were doing to those that resist.

There are plenty of terrorist acts to go around, but most of them are coming from Israel, via American made weaponry put together in places close to my home.

These superpowers are truly cowards–hiding their ambitions behind a smoke-screen of “fighting terrorism” only the simplest minds could accept.

  16. Why do let the terrorists hide in such a picturesque wonderful place?

  17. Thank you Mustapha for having this blog site in the first place.

I think that Hamas and Hezbollah must stop it’s aggression toward the Israelies–give up the soldiers. I also think that the Israeli response in Beirut was extreme. I think that going into Southern Lebanon to expel and kill off Hezbollah is fine–create a buffer between them and Israel.

Anonymous’s response about Hitler is both ignorant and immature. He/She has no true understanding of what the Jews went through at the hands of Hitler or any other persecutor. I tend to think that there have been terrorist acts from both sides of the borders between Israel and Gaza and West Bank etc. However, I agree that Hezbollah and Hamas started this one–they need to end it now.

I think the IDF has all the rights to attack where ever there are some Hizbollah terrorists, in southern Lebanon, in central and in northern Lebanon. The target is Hizbollah, and where ever the terrorists exist ihe IDF has all reasons and letitimacy to bomb, especialy in Beirut where the Hizbollah high command is hiding under the wing of the Lebanese government.

You can’t ley some one attack and cry while being reattacked.

Posted by Abe Bird | July 23, 2006, 6:16 am
  19. To Rob, http://insolidarity.blogsome.com/

ME terrorism has nothing to with French revolution. At list not directly, because Lebanon really needs to be a true democracy. Permit a terror group (or as you sure prefer to call them “freedom fighters”) to act independently from within a hosting country against neighboring country, no matter what the exuses are, it is called Terror actions. Especially, when there is a 1559 UN resolution (executive resolution and not declarative one).

The Hezbollah attacked Israel by mortars and Katyushas while kidnapping the soldiers. It was a violation of the Lebanese commitment. And that’s why the Lebanese and the Hezbollah have to pay much for their crimes. It seems that Arabs should be taught by spanks and not through their mind. From experience.

    Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2006, 6:55 am
  20. Would you prefer that the Israelis just rolled over and died? Is it tolerable that your government refuses to condemn Hezbollah’s act of war? Is your scenery more important than a neighboring country’s security? What right had Hezbollah to cross that border and kidnap those soldiers? Please reserve your indignation for the terrorists that deserve it.

  21. Mustapha shalom,

Is that the LBC television tower?

There was a hint of critisism on this attack on the Israeli channel 1 news.

Do you think that the target was actually the El-Manar relay tower (and not LBC)?

I would like to hear from someone who is fammiliar with the details.

    Regards,

  22. kidnapping 2 soldiers isn’t a terrorist act honestly.we all know this.but anyway, the israeli response is barbaric, but it’s not surprising.israelis are just a bunch of filthy jews from the suburbs of dirty eatern europe cities or expelled from arab countries.they have no morals really.a bit like animals.it’s the rich european and american jews who decide and send the israelis to war.i’m not surprised that they kill and destroy so easily.they must feel that the arabs are trying to throw them out of the land they just got,and send them back to the guettos where they came from.they must feel nervous coz of that,so they kill every1 thay find on their way.barbaric, but it’s very jewish.
70 years of wars and the israelis didn’t yet notice that peace will never exist.they’re not welcome there.so guys, just pack and go back home, wherever that is.and give us all a break.sths never change.u jews always make it to be hated everywhere u go.history repeats itself

  23. “It seems that Arabs should be taught by spanks and not through their mind.”

    Pretty racist comment there anonymous…

The general theme in all of these comments is that Hezbollah started it by kidnapping two soldiers.

But are we forgetting the context? It has never stopped between Hezbollah and Israel, and by the way I don’t support Hezbollah–I do believe they are partly responsible by their actions.

Israel invaded Lebanon in 1978, Hezbollah’s is a creation of Israeli aggression, lets not forget.

More recently, Israel captured a family of Palestinians which precedes the Hezbollah kidnappings. By international law, capturing civilians is far worse of a crime.

By the logic stated above, Israel deserves massive retaliation and major cities destroyed? Really? No. Thats not justice..

  24. “It is interesting that Israel actually telephoned people in the Southern region to tell them to leave. Can you remember when in history an army was polite enough to telephone first?”

There was probably some humanitarian (or world PR) intent in that.

But it was hardly inconvenient for Israel’s war aims however. Guerillas swim and hide in seas of their civilian supporters, to paraphrase Mao. Drain the sea of civilians and Hezbollah is either exposed and can be found and killed, or goes with them, too far to hit Israel with most of their rockets.

It wasn’t such a military sacrifice.

  25. Does anyone have an estimate as to what percentage of the Lebanese casualties are among non Hezbollah supporters?

Whether int’l law thinks I should feel this way or not, I have much more sympathy for those civilians. And feel Israel is guiltier for that collateral damage than for e.g. Shi’a supporters living near Hezbollah headquarters or especially near Hez rockets etc.

  26. I just feel sorry for all the lebanese having to live all this again.
There are more than 5000 Lebanese prisioners in Israel and tha’s nowhere in the headlines here in the west.
    WAR SUX, PERIOD.
Innocent have nothing to do with ignorant leaders crazy wishes… now it looks like there’s not turning back for many in the west after they sponsor and defends Israels right to kill civillians.

History repeats itself. Read and learn.

  27. People wake up! Do you honnestly believe that even if HO gives back the 2 soldiers, that Israel would stop, if so, them I feel sorry for you, if you believe so and are living in Israel as well, then I PITTY YOUR IGNORANCE!

You destroyed an entire country over 2 soldiers, while you yourself keep 5000+ hostage, double standards anyone?

  29. Hizbollah, may god bless them, are the protecters of lebanese land and peace. They have not been impacted by any of the israeli agressions. Israel has an excuse to kill lebanese as it really wants to invade the land. What a cheap excuse for an Evil government. To all zionists and israel supporters, listen carefully and be assured that you will burn in hell, forever……God is on our side (non-zionists muslims, christian and jews).
