Hey everyone,
I’m travelling tonight. This is why for the next ten days, my postings will be less regular. Still, you are always welcome to pass by and check previous postings. A lot of posts that you might have missed generated some precious debate that is still very relevant. Make sure you check them out.
Thank you all for reading my blog and I’ll be back in touch soon hopefully.
Hello, my name is Mustapha and I blog in The Beirut Spring about Lebanese society and politics. I started in February 2005 after the killing of P.M. Rafik Hariri.

Next time you travel to Lebanon, send an email. Blogging loves company.
In Fact, I AM in Lebanon, but not for long.
LP I don’t have your email on me now, could you please email me? mustapha at beirutspring dot com
All other bloggers in Lebanon are invited! (if LP is ok with that ;) )
Mustapha,
I was looking forward to some words from you this week, your absense is strongly felt.
On the occasion, I just wanted to mention the absurdity of the General’s claim that he had staged 16 March 14s. Did he ever ask himself why it didn’t work? If everybody were to take the General’s approach of staging March 14, Lebanon would really have been a free land, free of lebanese citizens, the Syrians would’ve then had their Great Syria.
I just wanted to try to get us focused on this issue, enough nonesense and childish rhetoric right at the point when everyone needs a supportive hand to move the country forward. What happened to being a constructive opposition, it looks like Aoun early on is even incapable of that. If he wants to really keep his base, he has to be intelligent enough to be a constructive partner, because the success of others would rub on him. Because there is nothing worse, come next election day, than being in opposition for a constructive free government.
By the way things are shaping up, it’s looking like Aoun wants to play the disgruntled game of being against everyone, in other words, he is still in exile!
PS: I liked the fact that Nayla Muawad is stepping up to face these claims. The results of these elections really put a twist on all the achievements of Qornet Chehwan, leaving it up to others to fight for credit.
